  • Adam Helewka: Joins KHL club

Helewka signed a one-year contract with Barys Nur-Sultan (KHL) on Thursday.

Since being drafted by the Sharks in the fourth round of the 2015 NHL Draft, Helewka has been traded three times before the Devils finally waived him in order to terminate his contract. At just 23 years of age, the door certainly isn't shut on a return to the NHL, but he will have to put together a solid KHL season in order to earn a look from one of the league's 31 clubs.

  • Adam Helewka: Contract terminated

The Devils placed Helewka on unconditional waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract Thursday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Helewka was just traded to New Jersey from the Predators in exchange for future considerations during the 2019 draft, but the Devils have clearly already decided he doesn't fit into their plans for the future. The 2015 fourth-round pick was pretty productive in the minors last campaign, racking up 50 points in 65 contests, so he shouldn't have much trouble landing a two-way deal with a different organization this offseason.

  • Devils' Adam Helewka: Sent to Jersey

Helewka was sent to the Devils from the Predators organization during draft weekend in exchange for future considerations.

This may be a part of the huge P.K. Subban deal or simply an corollary to it, but no matter, the forward will head east and join the Devils organization. Helewka is still just 23 years old and is now on his fourth organization, so the 2015 fourth-rounder has depth player written all over him.

  • Predators' Adam Helewka: Extended by Preds

Helewka signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Predators on Wednesday. The deal will be in effect starting with the 2019-20 season.

It's clear that the Predators have thoroughly scouted Helewka and really like what they see, as GM David Poile made the effort to acquire him in a trade with Arizona earlier this month, and now the fourth-round pick (San Jose, 2015) can glean confidence from inking his first standard NHL contract. Helewka is currently with the AHL's Admirals, with whom he's averaged a point per game (three goals, four assists).

  • Predators' Adam Helewka: Brought in via trade

Helewka and Laurent Dauphin were sent to Nashville from Arizona in exchange for Emil Pettersson on Friday.

Helewka has racked up 21 points in 41 outings with AHL Tucson this year, but has yet to make his NHL debut. The 23-year-old is probably a long shot to break into the Preds' roster this season and figures to spend most of his time with AHL Milwaukee the rest of the way.

  • Coyotes' Adam Helewka: Traded to Arizona

The Sharks traded Helewka to the Coyotes in exchange for Kyle Wood on Thursday.

Helewka has spent the last two seasons with AHL San Jose, notching 23 goals and 68 points in 124 games. The 2015 fourth-round pick has yet to make his NHL debut, and likely won't have a regular role with the Coyotes in 2018-19.

  • Sharks' Adam Helewka: Rough showing against Golden Knights

Helewka was called up from AHL San Jose on Sunday. He skated for 9:22 of ice time and went minus-3 in the evening's 5-3 win over the Golden Knights.

It's clear that Helewka isn't primed for the big stage, as he was shown up by an expansion club in limited ice time. It's safe to ignore him in all fantasy formats.
