Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Allows two goals in win
Ersson stopped 24 of 26 shots in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Sabres.
Ersson earned his first regulation win of the season after his previous four victories all came in the shootout. The 26-year-old limited the damage to goals by Jason Zucker and Bowen Byram. Ersson is now 5-2-2 with a 2.97 GAA and an .867 save percentage over nine appearances. Dan Vladar is still serving as the Flyers' go-to starter, but with three wins in his last four outings, Ersson has at least been able to get results lately. Neither goalie will be a recommended option in fantasy when the Flyers host the Avalanche on Sunday.

Flyers' Samuel Ersson: First goalie off Wednesday
Ersson was the first goalie to leave the ice ahead of Wednesday's home clash with the Sabres, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports, indicating he'll be in goal.
Ersson has given up three or more goals in six of his eight outings this year, posting a 4-2-2 record, 3.09 GAA and .859 save percentage. The 26-year-old backstop will be making his third appearance in the Flyers' last seven outings despite his underwhelming numbers.

Ersson stopped 15 of 17 shots in Monday's 3-0 loss to Tampa Bay, with the third goal being an empty-netter. He has posted a 3-2-2 record this season while allowing 23 goals on 153 shots. The Islanders sit 21st in the league with 2.96 goals per game this campaign.

Ersson has faced fewer than 20 shots in three of his six outings on the year, but he's yet to take advantage of light workloads, allowing a total of 12 goals on 45 shots in those games. He's shined in the shootout, which is where he's collected all three of his wins this season. The 26-year-old is 3-1-2 with a 3.30 GAA and an .846 save percentage on the year. Ersson's performance hasn't been good enough on the whole, but it looks like he'll resume splitting time with Dan Vladar in the crease after recovering from a lower-body injury. If the split is even, Vladar can be projected for Saturday's road game in Dallas while Ersson would be lined up for a rematch with the Blues in Philadelphia on Thursday.

Head coach Rick Tocchet said Wednesday that Ersson "tweaked something," and the issue will sideline the goaltender for at least one game. In the scenario where Ersson is unavailable, then Dan Vladar will presumably get the start, and Philadelphia will recall a goaltender from the minors to serve as Vladar's understudy.

Ersson made 24 saves in a 3-2 shootout win over Pittsburgh on Tuesday.
The first goal snuck between Ersson's pad and the goal post in the first period, and the second was a pure fluke in the third frame. Sidney Crosby backhanded a pass from behind the net, but it hit Nick Seeler's shoulder and dropped in behind Ersson. The 26-year-old Ersson has now won two games in a row while allowing five goals after surrendering eight markers across two losses (0-1-1) to start the season. Ersson's game may be tightening up.

Ersson earned his first win of the season to improve to 1-1-1. Simon Holmstrom beat him in the first while shorthanded, and Anthony Duclair tapped in a pass early in the second to drive the Isles up 2-0. Maxim Tsyplakov redirected a pass behind him early in the third. Holmstrom beat him again in the shootout.
