Hunt notched an assist and three shots on goal in Monday's 6-3 loss to the Blues.
Hunt got into a top-four role with power-play time since the Wild had four regulars on the blue line out of the lineup for either rest or injury management. Hunt can be penciled in to play again Tuesday versus the Ducks in the regular-season finale, but the 23-year-old is unlikely to see much action in the playoffs. Hunt (upper body) will not finish Monday's game versus the Canadiens, according to Dylan Loucks of The Hockey News.
Per Loucks, Ivan Demidov took a shot that ramped up Hunt's stick and hit the defenseman in the neck. The 23-year-old Hunt immediately went to the locker room and did not return. If he's unable to suit up in the Wild's final game before the Olympic break, which is Wednesday in Nashville, David Jiricek will draw back into the lineup.

Hunt was waived by the Blue Jackets on Thursday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Hunt's impending demotion to the minors comes as a bit of a surprise, considering there were reports he had secured his spot on the Opening Night roster. The move could still just be temporary, as the Jackets have until Oct. 9 to recall the blueliner from the minors. For now, Denton Mateychuk appears to have secured a spot on the roster ahead of Hunt.

Blue Jackets' Daemon Hunt: Lands one-year contract
Hunt signed a one-year, two-way contract with Columbus on Friday.
Hunt saw action in one NHL game last season with the Wild before he was part of a trade that sent David Jiricek to Minnesota on Nov. 30. The 23-year-old Hunt spent the rest of the regular season with AHL Cleveland, picking up two goals and 12 assists in 48 games. He could see a couple of games at the NHL level in 2025-26, especially if the Blue Jackets run into injury problems on their blue line.

Columbus obtained Hunt, a top-five protected 2025 first-round pick, a 2026 third-round selection, a 2026 fourth-round choice and a second rounder in 2027 from Minnesota on Saturday in exchange for David Jiricek and a 2025 fifth-round pick.
