Flames' Yan Kuznetsov: Two points including winner
Kuznetsov scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in Monday's 7-4 victory over the Sabres.
It was the 23-year-old's first career game-winner in his 18th NHL contest, and his first multi-point performance. Kuznetsov is emerging as a reliable member of Calgary's blue line, seeing more than 20 minutes of ice time in 10 straight games, and over the last seven contests, the 2020 second-round pick has produced two goals and four points with 16 blocked shots, 15 hits and a minus-1 rating.

Flames' Yan Kuznetsov: Puts away goal
Kuznetsov scored a goal on two shots, added two hits and blocked four shots in Friday's 5-3 win over the Panthers.
Kuznetsov has a goal and an assist over his last two games. He went nine contests without a point after earning an assist in his season debut. Despite the lack of offense, the 23-year-old's overall play has been strong enough to secure him a top-four spot on the blue line. He's earned three points, 14 shots on net, 18 hits, 21 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating over 12 appearances.

Flames' Yan Kuznetsov: Registers helper in season debut
Kuznetsov logged an assist, two hits and a plus-2 rating in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Blue Jackets.
Kuznetsov's helper was his first point in his second NHL contest. It was his first outing with the big club in 2025-26 after he put up two goals in 10 games with AHL Calgary prior to his Tuesday call-up. Kuznetsov is with the big club to apply some pressure for third-pairing minutes, mainly in competition with fellow left-shot blueliner Jake Bean, but also to keep Zayne Parekh and Brayden Pachal honest as well. Should Kuznetsov play well over an extended stretch, he could help bolster a weak spot in the Flames' lineup.

Kuznetsov signed a two-year contract with the Flames on Thursday.
Kuznetsov was a restricted free agent, so it isn't particularly surprising to see him return to the Flames. The first year of his new contract will be a two-way deal, while the second year will become a one-way agreement. Kuznetsov made his NHL debut this past season but it was the only game he appeared in for the Flames. With AHL Calgary last year, the Russian blueliner didn't offer much in the way of fantasy upside considering he managed just five goals and eight helpers in 63 regular-season games. While Kuznetsov could see a handful of NHL contests, he is unlikely to be a full-time option this year, making him a non-factor in redraft formats as well as a weak choice for keeper and dynasty leagues.
