Chmelar was sent down to AHL Hartford on Wednesday.
Chmelar has appeared in six games for the Rangers this season, in which he has failed to generate any points while posting 13 hits, three shots and seven PIM. The Rangers also returned Brett Berard to the minors, while bringing up Brennan Othmann and Gabe Perreault in corresponding moves.

Chmelar was promoted from AHL Hartford on Saturday.
Chmelar has three goals and 11 points in 19 outings with Hartford this season. He hasn't earned a point while posting five PIM and five hits in two appearances with the Rangers in 2025-26. The Rangers sent Brennan Othmann to the minors in a corresponding move.

The Rangers recalled Gabe Perreault from the minors in a corresponding move. Chmelar hasn't earned a point in two NHL appearances this season while posting five hits and one shot on net. However, he does have two goals and three assists in nine AHL outings this campaign.

Rangers' Jaroslav Chmelar: Called up Sunday
Chmelar was recalled from AHL Hartford on Sunday.
Chmelar is set to serve as the Rangers' 13th forward, as Brennan Othmann was optioned to the minors in a corresponding transaction. The 22-year-old Chmelar has notched two goals, five points and a plus-6 rating over nine appearances with the Wolf Pack this season. The 2021 fifth-round pick has yet to make his NHL debut.
