  • Wild's David Spacek: Sent back down

Spacek was reassigned to AHL Iowa on Friday.

Spacek was called up Thursday, but he didn't appear in Minnesota's matchup against Columbus. He'll head back to the minors a day later, which signals that the Wild could get some of their injured players back in the mix over the weekend.

  • Wild's David Spacek: Elevated from minors

Spacek was promoted from AHL Iowa on Thursday, per the NHL media site.

Spacek's call-up comes as Daemon Hunt (undisclosed) was designated for injured reserve in a corresponding move. If the 22-year-old Spacek does get into a game for the Wild, it will mark his NHL debut after having spent the last three years playing in the minors. This year, the Columbus native has racked up 11 helpers in 26 minor-league tilts for Iowa.

  • Wild's David Spacek: Back in AHL

Spacek was reassigned to AHL Iowa on Saturday.

Spacek was a healthy scratch Tuesday versus San Jose. The 22-year-old had six assists in 12 AHL games before his recall. The Wild recalled Liam Ohgren and Tyler Pitlick in a corresponding move. In addition, Marco Rossi (lower body) was put on injured reserve Friday.

  • Wild's David Spacek: Elevated from minors

Spacek was recalled from AHL Iowa on Monday.

Spacek will provide depth on Minnesota's blue line since Jake Middleton is dealing with an illness, and it's unclear if the latter will be ready for Tuesday's home game against the Sharks. Spacek, a fifth-round pick in 2022, has yet to make his NHL debut. The right-shot defenseman has six helpers and a minus-1 rating across 12 appearances with the minor-league squad this year.

  • Wild's David Spacek: Joining Czechia at Worlds

Spacek will take part in the 2025 IIHF World Championship with Czechia.

Spacek has yet to make his NHL debut after two full seasons in the minors with AHL Iowa. During the 2024-25 campaign, the 22-year-old blueliner notched four goals and 27 helpers in 72 regular-season contests. With a strong performance at Worlds, Spacek could start building his case for a roster spot with Minnesota ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
