Canucks' Arshdeep Bains: Breaks slump with helper
Bains logged an assist and added two hits in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Avalanche.
Bains snapped a seven-game slump with the helper. He was also scratched five times in that span, but the injury to Conor Garland (upper body) has opened the door for Bains to play regularly again. For the season, Bains is at four helpers, 20 hits, 10 PIM and a minus-1 rating over 22 appearances in a fourth-line role.

Canucks' Arshdeep Bains: Falling out of favor
Bains was scratched for the fifth straight game in Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Flames.
Bains played in 18 straight games to start the season, but he managed just three assists. Two of those helpers came in the first three contests, and his decline has led to him sitting out after watching his ice time drop as the Canucks got healthier following a bad run of injuries. Bains has added 13 shots on net, 17 hits and a minus-2 rating this season. If he continues to see limited opportunities at the NHL level, he could get reassigned to AHL Abbotsford when the Canucks get some forwards back from injured reserve.

Canucks' Arshdeep Bains: Generates assist Thursday
Bains notched an assist, two hits and two blocked shots in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Flames.
Bains set up the second of Filip Chytil's goals in the contest. The two have started the year on the Canucks' second line alongside Conor Garland. It's not a particularly notable trio, but it's encouraging for Bains that he's seeing middle-six minutes. He's a tough customer, but fantasy managers shouldn't be expecting the 24-year-old to produce much offense -- prior to Thursday, he had just one goal, 12 shots and 24 hits over his first 21 NHL appearances across the last two seasons.
