Top Ethan Gauthier News

  • Lightning's Ethan Gauthier: Pots pair in AHL win

Gauthier scored twice in AHL Syracuse's 5-3 win over Belleville on Friday.

Gauthier's rookie year in the AHL has been a quiet one. He has six goals, 12 points, 37 shots on net and a plus-3 rating over 33 appearances for the Crunch. The 21-year-old winger was a second-round pick in 2023, and it'll likely be at least another year or two before he's in serious contention for NHL minutes.

  • Lightning's Ethan Gauthier: Stepping up offensively in QMJHL

Gauthier has taken a step forward offensively in 2024-25, providing 20 goals and 51 points in 38 appearances with QMJHL Drummondville.

Gauthier's scoring pace has improved significantly from last campaign, when he finished with 71 points (36 goals) in 64 regular-season outings with Drummondville. Tampa Bay selected him with the No. 37 overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft. Gauthier has the potential to develop into a top-six forward, but that's likely not going to happen soon. Gauthier will probably continue to hone his game in the minors next season rather than jump directly to the NHL from the junior level.

  • Lightning's Ethan Gauthier: Inks entry-level deal

Gauthier agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract with Tampa Bay on Thursday.

Gauthier is currently plying his trade in the QMJHL where he has racked up 13 goals and 17 helpers in 28 contests. Selected by the Lightning with the 37th overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, the 18-year-old winger is likely to spend next season in the juniors.
