  • Blackhawks' Nick Lardis: Ties game late in second period

Lardis scored a power-play goal on five shots and added two hits in Tuesday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Islanders.

Lardis was able to beat the buzzer in the second period, tying the game at 2-2. The 20-year-old winger is up to two goals through his first eight NHL appearances, and his tally Tuesday was his first career power-play point. He's added 14 shots on net, 16 hits and a minus-1 rating. He's still in a bottom-six role, but Lardis' scoring potential is already showing despite his limited usage.

  • Blackhawks' Nick Lardis: Gets first NHL goal

Lardis scored a goal in Saturday's 6-4 loss to the Senators.

Lardis potted his first NHL tally at 7:17 of the third period to bring the Blackhawks back within a goal. He's playing limited minutes in a bottom-six role, including just 8:17 in Saturday's contest despite Frank Nazar (upper body) leaving the game early. Lardis is at least getting power-play time, but the 20-year-old winger will have a tough time making a big impact without a larger overall role.

  • Blackhawks' Nick Lardis: Called up Saturday

Lardis was recalled from AHL Rockford on Saturday.

The Blackhawks need a 13th forward as Connor Bedard is out of action after injuring his shoulder Friday. Lardis has been lighting it up in the AHL in his first full professional season, tallying 13 goals and 26 points in 24 games, good for sixth place in AHL scoring, as well as leading all rookies in points. He could make his NHL debut against Detroit on Saturday.
