Blue Jackets' Mathieu Olivier: No timeline for return
Olivier (upper body) doesn't have a timeline for his return to the lineup, according to Aaron Portzline of The Athletic on Saturday.
Portzline believes Olivier is probably week-to-week, but Columbus hasn't announced that yet. The 28-year-old Olivier has missed the last two games and hasn't been skating. Blue Jackets' Mathieu Olivier: Having injury looked at Tuesday
Olivier's upper-body injury will be assessed by the team's medical staff Tuesday, according to Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site.
Olivier seemed to be injured during Monday's loss to the Capitals after a puck battle in the corner -- he went to the bench slowly and then to the locker room, per Svoboda. The right-shot winger will be evaluated Tuesday, and the team will see where he's at ahead of Wednesday's home matchup versus the Maple Leafs. Olivier has accounted for three goals, nine points, 71 hits, 29 shots on goal, 44 PIM and a plus-2 rating through 23 appearances this season.

Blue Jackets' Mathieu Olivier: Two goals, three points in win
Olivier scored two goals and added an assist in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Oilers.
Olivier cracked the scoresheet after being held without a point across his previous six games, and the last time he did so, he notched four points in a 6-3 victory over the Maple Leafs on Oct. 29. Olivier has proven he can produce when given enough playing time, but his bottom-six role, and the inconsistencies he's had on a game-to-game basis, have limited his upside. He's not a player worth targeting in most formats due to the inconsistency of his production.

Blue Jackets' Mathieu Olivier: Stands out in win
Olivier scored a goal, added three assists, went plus-4 and logged two hits in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Maple Leafs.
Olivier had his best game of the season, which wasn't too difficult considering he had just one helper over his first nine outings. He helped out on goals by Cole Sillinger, Zach Werenski and Dante Fabbro over the first two periods before scoring one of his own in the third. Olivier continues to fill a third-line role and sees time on the penalty kill. He's at five points, 16 shots on net, 12 PIM, 31 hits, nine blocked shots and a plus-2 rating through 10 appearances.

Blue Jackets' Mathieu Olivier: Assist, fight in win
Olivier notched an assist, two hits, four blocked shots and seven PIM in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Lightning.
Olivier mixed it up with Curtis Douglas in a first-period bout, then set up Damon Severson's game-tying goal in the middle frame. The helper was Olivier's first point in five games this year. The 28-year-old has added 14 hits, eight blocks, seven PIM and an even plus-minus rating while playing in a third-line role. He broke out with 18 goals and 32 points in 82 regular-season contests last year, but he also shot 16.2 percent in 2024-25, a number that's almost certain to come down significantly in 2025-26.

Blue Jackets' Mathieu Olivier: Two-point, four-hit power game
Olivier had a goal and an assist in a 5-2 win over Ottawa on Tuesday.
These were Olivier's first points in six games. While he has 18 goals and 31 points in 77 games this season, his best fantasy asset is his ability to hit. Olivier has 294 this season, including four Tuesday, and that moves him into second in the NHL.

Blue Jackets' Mathieu Olivier: Posts two points
Olivier recorded a goal, an assist and three hits in Friday's 7-6 shootout win over the Canucks.
Olivier hasn't been the most consistent performer for the Blue Jackets, as he's cracked the scoresheet in only six of his 12 appearances in March. However, he's putting up solid numbers, producing nine points (six goals, three helpers) in that span. Olivier doesn't carry a lot of fantasy upside in most formats but has been well-suited for leagues that reward his physicality. He has tallied 29 points (17 goals, 12 assists), 270 hits and 69 blocked shots through 71 appearances this season.

Blue Jackets' Mathieu Olivier: Helper, fight in loss
Olivier logged an assist, three shots on goal, two hits and five PIM in Friday's 6-3 loss to the Penguins.
Olivier fought Bokondji Imama in the first period before setting up a Justin Danforth tally in the middle frame. It's been a good stretch for Olivier lately, who has six goals, three assists, 47 hits, 28 shots on net and 26 PIM over 12 contests dating back to Feb. 25. Overall, the 28-year-old is enjoying a career year with 27 points, 125 PIM, 99 shots on net, 260 hits, 69 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating over 69 appearances in 2024-25.

Blue Jackets' Mathieu Olivier: Pots goal in Monday's loss
Olivier scored a goal on five shots and added two hits in Monday's 2-1 loss to the Devils.
Olivier has six goals on 25 shots and two assists over his last 10 outings. The 28-year-old is finding extra success on offense, and it's probably a relief that he won't have to worry about job security after signing a six-year, $18 million contract extension March 5. Olivier should continue to provide the Blue Jackets with depth scoring and physicality, likely in a third-line role, for the majority of that contract. This year, he's at 16 goals, 26 points, 96 shots on net, 250 hits, 120 PIM and 68 blocked shots over 67 appearances.

Blue Jackets' Mathieu Olivier: Lights lamp twice in Tuesday's loss
Olivier scored two goals in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Devils.
The physical winger continued his breakout offensive campaign, getting the Blue Jackets on the board early in the second period before wrapping up the scoring on the night midway through the third. Olivier has found the back of the net five times in the last seven games. On the season, the 28-year-old has a career-high 15 goals and 25 points through 64 appearances -- he came into 2024-25 with 13 goals and 34 points in 168 career NHL games. The scoring outburst complements his usual rugged play, as Olivier is second in the league in both hits (237) and PIM (120).

Blue Jackets' Mathieu Olivier: Scores, assists vs. Rangers
Olivier recorded a goal and an assist in Sunday's 7-3 win over the Rangers. He also recorded four shots on goal, two hits, one blocked shot and a plus-2 rating.
Olivier recorded his third multi-point game of the season, and first since Oct. 22, but what stands out is the fact that he's been very productive in recent games. The 28-year-old winger has cracked the scoresheet in four of his last six appearances and tallied five points (three goals, two helpers) over that span. This six-game stretch erased a nine-game point drought between Jan. 23 and Feb. 22.

Blue Jackets' Mathieu Olivier: Inks six-year deal
Olivier agreed to terms on a six-year, $18 million contract extension with Columbus on Wednesday.
Olivier is having a career year offensively, setting personal bests in goals (12), points (21) and hits (232) while averaging 14:26 of ice time. In addition, the 28-year-old winger adds plenty of grit to the Blue Jackets' bottom six, as he leads the league with 11 majors this year.

Blue Jackets' Mathieu Olivier: Tallies again Saturday
Olivier scored a goal on two shots, added five hits and went plus-2 in Saturday's 5-3 Stadium Series win over the Red Wings.
Olivier has two goals and an assist during his three-game point streak. The 28-year-old pending unrestricted free agent is reportedly in negotiations to stay with the Blue Jackets, though if those talks sour, he could be a trade candidate. The physical winger is at 12 goals, nine assists, 76 shots on net, 228 hits, 99 PIM and 66 blocked shots over 60 appearances, making this a career year nearly across the board for him.

Blue Jackets' Mathieu Olivier: Scores rare goal vs. Dallas
Olivier scored a goal, took two shots and recorded seven hits in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Stars.
Olivier isn't known for his scoring prowess, but he doubled the Blue Jackets' lead just 4:37 into the second period with a tip-in. This was his 11th goal of the campaign, but it also ended a 17-game scoring drought for the 28-year-old veteran. Olivier is having a career-best season with 19 points through 58 contests while adding 220 hits and 66 blocked shots to his name.

Blue Jackets' Mathieu Olivier: Assist, fight in win
Olivier notched a shorthanded assist and five PIM in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Maple Leafs.
Olivier got the game started with a scrap, dropping the mitts in a heavyweight bout with Ryan Reaves 1:32 into the contest. After serving his fighting major, Olivier made an impact on the scoresheet by assisting on the first of Adam Fantilli's three goals in the game. This ended a five-game point drought for Olivier. The rough-and-tumble winger has a career-high 18 points as well as 171 hits, 88 PIM, 56 shots on net, 57 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating through 48 appearances.

Blue Jackets' Mathieu Olivier: Ends chaos with empty-netter
Olivier scored an empty-net goal on four shots, added seven PIM, doled out five hits and blocked two shots in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Blues.
Olivier's goal was the last of eight scored between the two teams in a chaotic third period. He snapped a four-game point drought Saturday, but he's partially made up for the lack of offense by being a steady source of hits and PIM. For the season, the 27-year-old winger has a career-high 16 points with 47 shots on net, 79 PIM, 147 hits, 46 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating through just 40 appearances.
