Devils' Gilles Senn: Headed overseas
Senn inked a three-year deal with Swiss club HC Davos on Thursday.
Senn spent the entire 2020-21 campaign in the minors with AHL Binghamton, for which he posted a 3-10-2 record, .895 save percentage and 3.56 GAA. A native of Switzerland, Senn will be returning to Davos following two seasons in North America that saw him play in two NHL contests for the Devils. New Jersey could extend the 25-year-old netminder a qualifying offer to retain his NHL rights rather than letting him become a free agent, but either way, fantasy players shouldn't be expecting him back in the NHL anytime soon.

Senn was called up because Louis Domingue was struggling at the top level, but the former was afforded just two appearances and recorded a .902 save percentage. Domingue has seemingly found his game in the AHL with a .930 save percentage over six games, so Senn will be sent down and Domingue will get another shot with the big club.

Senn will make his first NHL start against the Blue Jackets on Saturday, Abbey Mastraco of Record Sports reports.
Senn allowed a goal on three shots in a relief appearance Dec. 20. The 23-year-old moves to a starting role Saturday and will be looking to hand Columbus its first loss in four games. Senn is 5-5-2 with a 2.95 GAA and .896 save percentage in 13 AHL appearances this season. A lack of playing time in North America -- roughly four months -- makes Senn a risky play in all fantasy formats.

Senn didn't start the game the way he wanted -- he allowed goals on the Blue Jackets' first and third shots. But he settled down and made some good saves after that. It's hard to play behind this team, so it's best to avoid Senn.
