Lean Bergmann: Waived for mutual termination
Bergmann will have his contract terminated after being placed on waivers by the Sharks on Friday, Sportsnet's Chris Johnston reports.
Bergmann appeared in just one match for San Jose this year in which he tallied four PIM, one shot and three hits in 10:19 of ice time. At just 22 years of age, it's not impossible the Germany center can make his way back to the NHL in the future but he'll need to put together another season or two like his 2018-19 campaign with the Iserlohn Roosters (DEL) in which he tallied 20 goals in 50 contests.

Bergmann will give the parent club an extra healthy body at forward while Tomas Hertl (knee) and Logan Couture (ankle) are on injured reserve and Melker Karlsson (lower body) is day-to-day heading into Tuesday's game in Philadelphia. Over his previous eight appearances with the NHL club this season, Bergmann has been limited to a checking line role, averaging just 8:27 of ice time.

Sharks' Lean Bergmann: Skating in limited role
Bergmann has notched one assist while averaging just 8:43 of ice time through the first six games of the season.
The Sharks clearly aren't going to trust Bergmann with a significant role this season, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him sent to the minors sooner rather than later, so the 21-year-old rookie can be safely ignored in all fantasy formats.
