Lightning's Jakob Pelletier: Headed back down

Pelletier made his NHL debut while up with the big club, skating 6:12 while recording one hit and one blocked shot. He'll head back to AHL Syracuse, where he's been effective with 14 points in 13 games.

Lightning's Jakob Pelletier: Three points in Syracuse debut
Pelletier scored twice on eight shots and added an assist Saturday in AHL Syracuse's 5-2 win over Hershey.
Pelletier's first game for the Crunch was a success. The 24-year-old signed with the Lightning on a three-year deal in July, but he was waived at the start of October. He's been highly successful in the AHL with 133 points over 140 career games, but that hasn't fully translated in the NHL, where he has 29 points across 86 regular-season contests. A strong performance for Syracuse could put him in line for a call-up to the Lightning later in 2025-26.

Lightning's Jakob Pelletier: Waived Wednesday
Pelletier was placed on waivers by Tampa Bay on Wednesday.
Pelletier had seven goals and 19 points across 49 regular-season outings between Calgary and Philadelphia in 2024-25. The 24-year-old is projected to start the upcoming campaign in the minors if he clears waivers, but it wouldn't be surprising if he's one of Tampa Bay's top call-up options.

Lightning's Jakob Pelletier: Links up with Bolts
Pelletier signed a three-year, $2.525 million contract with the Lightning on Tuesday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Pelletier's deal is a two-way pact in the first season before moving to a one-way deal in the last two years. The 24-year-old will get a fresh start in an organization that has gotten good results out of unheralded depth players before. He had a total of 19 points in 49 outings between the Flames and the Flyers last season.

He is starting to click with the Flyers after posting only two assists in his first 15 games after being acquired from Calgary. Flyers' Jakob Pelletier: Nets goal in high-scoring win
Pelletier scored a goal on three shots and added two PIM in Wednesday's 8-5 win over the Rangers.
Pelletier is playing well lately with five points (two goals, three assists) over his last six games. He's still in a third-line role with virtually no power-play time, so he likely won't sustain that pace over a longer stretch. For the season, the 24-year-old has 18 points, 50 shots on net, 44 hits and a plus-9 rating over 45 appearances between the Flyers and the Flames.

Flyers' Jakob Pelletier: Finds twine Saturday
Pelletier scored a goal and added two hits in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Sabres.
Pelletier has points in three straight games (one goal, two assists). The change from John Tortorella to Brad Shaw at head coach should give Pelletier a second chance at a first impression with his new team following a lackluster run of play after he was traded from the Flames in January. The 24-year-old winger has 16 points, 45 shots on net, 42 hits and a plus-7 rating over 42 appearances this season.

Flyers' Jakob Pelletier: Nabs helper in loss
Pelletier produced an assist in Tuesday's 7-2 loss to the Maple Leafs.
Pelletier has stayed in the lineup since his Flyers debut Feb. 22, but he's struggled to make an impact while playing in a bottom-six role. He was pinned down on the fourth line for most of March before moving up to the third line recently. He's contributed 14 points, 42 shots on net, 40 hits and a plus-7 rating across 40 appearances between the Flyers and the Flames this season. At 24 years old and without a guaranteed NHL role, Pelletier's shine in dynasty formats is almost gone, and he isn't a factor in redraft formats.
