Stars' Cameron Schmidt: Settling in with new WHL club
Rotowire
Schmidt scored a goal on five shots and added an assist in WHL Seattle's 8-3 loss to Medicine Hat on Friday.
Schmidt has four points over two games since he was traded from WHL Vancouver to the Thunderbirds on Monday. Overall, the creative winger is up to 29 goals, 35 assists and a minus-9 rating over 41 appearances this season. Schmidt, a Stars prospect, had a fairly lateral move between the two teams, neither of which is likely to make the WHL playoffs this year, but he should have plenty of room to shine for Seattle.

Stars' Cameron Schmidt: Four-goal game in WHL win
Rotowire
Schmidt scored four goals on eight shots in WHL Vancouver's 7-4 win over Victoria on Thursday.
Schmidt's point streak is up to 14 games, but this was his best outing of the year. During that span, he has 10 goals and 12 assists. He's now at 22 goals, 48 points, 131 shots and a minus-14 rating over 33 appearances. He ranks second in the WHL in points and tied for third in goals. The Stars haven't been afraid to pick undersized forwards before, and Schmidt, the 94th overall pick in 2025, looks to be the latest player to fit that trend.

Stars' Cameron Schmidt: Three points in WHL loss
Rotowire
Schmidt scored twice on eight shots and added an assist in WHL Vancouver's 4-3 loss to Penticton on Saturday.
Despite the end result, Schmidt had a highly productive game for the Giants. He's a talented scorer for an undersized player -- that's not something that will hold him back in junior, but he'll need to fill out his 5-foot-8 frame to find success as a professional. He's up to five goals and 10 assists over 10 games this season, showcasing a bit of playmaking compared to when he had 40 goals and 78 points in 61 regular-season outings in 2024-25.
