Garand will be between the home pipes for Tuesday's tilt versus Tampa Bay, per Jim Cerny of NHL.com.
Garand has looked solid to start the season, posting a 2-1-0 record, 1.20 GAA and one shutout. With Igor Shesterkin (knee) out for the season and Joonas Korpisalo (lower body) still a month from returning, the Rangers will have to turn the crease over to Garand for the time being. If he continues to perform well, Garand could secure his spot as the No. 1 option the rest of the way.

The 23-year-old center is in his second NHL campaign, and he's emerged as a decent third-line defensive center. Garand did well in his first start since Igor Shesterkin (knee) was lost for the year. The quality of the opponent is certainly a factor -- this loss dropped the Canucks to 2-5-0 on the year. Garand will get at least a short-term chance to claim the No. 1 job for the Rangers, though his performance over the next month will go a long way in determining the pecking order in goal when Joonas Korpisalo (lower body) can play. Expect Garand between the pipes again for a much tougher test versus the Lightning on Tuesday.
Shesterkin will require surgery and a lengthy rehab process to address his season-ending right knee injury, Vince Z. Mercogliano of The Athletic reports Sunday.
Shesterkin was hurt during Friday's game against the Capitals when his right leg got jammed into the post while returning to the crease on a scrambled play, and the Rangers ruled him out for the season a day later. He was placed on injured reserve Sunday, and the team has now provided some clarification on the exact nature of his injury. Dylan Garand is slated to serve as the Rangers' No. 1 option in the crease until Joonas Korpisalo (lower body) is back in action.
