Hellebuyck will make his New Jersey debut in his first start of the 2026-27 campaign. The Devils acquired the star netminder from Winnipeg on Friday in exchange for Dawson Mercer, Nico Daws, Alexander Command, Nick Bjugstad (pectoral), a 2029 second-round pick and a 2027 seventh-round pick. Hellebuyck posted a 23-23-11 record, a 2.86 GAA and an .895 save percentage in 57 regular-season appearances for the Jets in 2025-26.
Devils' Connor Hellebuyck: Intends to play on road trip

Head coach Sheldon Keefe said Monday that Hellebuyck (not injury related) intends to play during the Devils' upcoming three-game road trip, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.
While Hellebuyck appears to be close to making his team debut, Keefe said that there are "several boxes they'll need to tick" before the Devils officially give the green light to their new netminder. If Hellebuyck is held out during New Jersey's back-to-back set that includes a game against Dallas on Tuesday and a matchup against Colorado on Wednesday, Jake Allen and Remi Poirier would likely handle goaltending duties for the Devils.

The only goal came on a bang-bang play in the second when Scott Laughton took a quick pass from behind the goal line and wired a shot from the left hash marks. Allen will be the go-to guy until newcomer Connor Hellebuyck (not injury related) is ready to play. Allen is 5-2-0 with a 2.84 GAA and .886 save percentage. His GSAx (goals saved above expected) was -3.7 heading into Saturday's game, but his numbers should improve in a backup role.

Mantha took a pass at speed and weaved through two defenders before beating Anton Forsberg with a wrister from the left circle. The big winger now has a goal in each of his last two games and three (one assist) in 11 games this season. Mantha is toiling on the third line, so it's unlikely he'll be able to deliver like he did last season in Pittsburgh. There, he had 33 goals and 31 assists on 152 shots in 81 games. His fantasy value lies in dailies when he's on a roll. Otherwise, leave him on the wire.

It was his first goal in 35 games dating to Dec. 23 of last season, and it was a beauty. Pesce toe-dragged the puck past a Kings forward before going low under Anton Forsberg's left pad. It stood as the winner. The defender is best known for his stabilization of the Devils own zone, but he has also put up 30 points in an NHL season. Pesce now has one goal, three assists and 20 blocks in 11 games this season.

Devils' Arseny Gritsyuk: Goal and point streak now at five games

Gritsyuk extended his goal and point streak to five games (five goals, two assists. He has 14 shots and four hits in that span. Gritsyuk has taken off in his second-line role, and all nine of his points (six goals, three assists) have come in the last eight games. He's a classic use while hot guy, but at the same time, this could be Gritsyuk taking the next step. Enjoy the ride.

Los Angeles (2-4-2) is tied for 27th in the league with 2.50 goals per game this campaign.

Mantha tallied in the third period to extend the Devils' lead to 3-1. The 32-year-old winger has seen his power-play time dry up a bit lately, but he remains in a middle-six role. He's off to a slow start with three points, 12 shots on net, five hits and seven PIM over 10 contests. In his career year in 2025-26, he shot 21.7 percent and averaged nearly two shots per game, so he'll need to up the volume to avoid a significant drop-off.
