Blues' Dylan Peterson: Scores twice in AHL win
Peterson scored twice in AHL Springfield's 3-1 win over Charlotte on Saturday.
This was Peterson's second multi-point effort of the season. The 23-year-old is up to four goals and 10 points over 17 outings for the Thunderbirds this season. He's in the last year of his entry-level contract, and he doesn't look to be particularly close to his first NHL call-up.

Blues' Joel Hofer: Defending visiting crease Saturday
Hofer will guard the visiting goal in Florida on Saturday, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
Hofer shut out the Jets on Wednesday, stopping 24 shots for his third shutout of the campaign. He is 6-7-2 with a 2.96 GAA and an .896 save percentage for the lowly Blues this season. The Panthers could be a tired team Saturday after scoring three times in the last 10 minutes of the third period en route to a 4-3 shootout win over Carolina on Friday.

Blues' Matt Luff: Loaned to AHL affiliate
Luff was reassigned to AHL Springfield on Friday, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
Luff played five games with the Blues during his recall, scoring once. The 28-year-old has had success at the AHL level this season, tallying seven goals and adding seven assists in 17 games.

Blues' Jonatan Berggren: First goal with new team
Berggren scored a goal in Thursday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Rangers.
This was Berggren's second game with the Blues since he was plucked off waivers from the Red Wings. He's immediately stepped into a third-line role, and with a goal and four shots over two contests, he could stick in the lineup for a while. Prior to being waived, he was scratched for 19 of 34 contests with Detroit. Berggren has put up three goals, four helpers, 24 shots, 11 hits and a minus-2 rating over 17 appearances this season.

Blues' Jordan Binnington: Loses in overtime
Binnington allowed two goals on 31 shots in Thursday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Rangers.
Binnington didn't start the last three games, as Joel Hofer has been earning more playing time of late. This was a good performance for Binnington, but he didn't get enough goal support, falling to 1-3-1 over his last five outings. He's at 7-8-6 with a 3.41 GAA and an .873 save percentage through 22 contests overall. Considering Hofer posted a shutout in Wednesday's win over the Jets, it wouldn't be surprising to see Binnington on the bench for Saturday's game against the Panthers.

Blues' Justin Faulk: Nets lone goal in win
Faulk scored a goal and added two PIM in Wednesday's 1-0 win over the Jets.
Faulk tallied at 13:17 of the second period, and that was all the support Joel Hofer needed to get the Blues a win. The 33-year-old Faulk has two goals and three assists over his last six outings, a productive stretch that was preceded by a six-game slump. For the season, the blueliner has generally been better than last year, racking up eight goals, 18 points, 63 shots on net, 70 blocked shots, 31 hits, 18 PIM and a minus-4 rating through 35 appearances.

Blues' Joel Hofer: Posts third shutout of season
Hofer stopped all 24 shots he faced in Wednesday's 1-0 win over the Jets.
This was Hofer's second win in his last five outings. The 25-year-old made his third straight start Wednesday, and he'll only cede the crease to Jordan Binnington on Thursday versus the Rangers because it's the second half of a back-to-back. Hofer is up to 6-7-2 with a 2.96 GAA and an .896 save percentage over 19 appearances. It's safe to call the Blues' crease contested at this time, and it may be trending toward Hofer taking over the No. 1 job if he gets the nod for games Saturday versus the Panthers and Monday against the Lightning.

Blues' Jordan Binnington: Set to start Thursday
Binnington will get the starting nod for Thursday's clash with the Rangers, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
Binnington will take the second half of the Blues' back-to-back after Joel Hofer tends the twine at home versus the Jets on Wednesday. For his part, the 32-year-old Binnington has underwhelmed of late, going 2-3-1 with a 4.51 GAA in his last six outings.

Blues' Joel Hofer: Starting against Winnipeg
Hofer will start Wednesday's home game against the Jets, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
Hofer has seen an uptick in playing time recently, and he'll draw a third consecutive start Wednesday. Over his last seven appearances (five starts), he's gone 3-2-0 with a 2.13 GAA and a .924 save percentage. Winnipeg has 3.03 goals per game this year, which ranks 17th in the NHL.

Blues' Hugh McGing: Bound for minors
McGing was returned to AHL Springfield on Tuesday.
McGing's demotion comes as the Blues claimed Jonatan Berggren off waivers Tuesday. Given the close proximity between St. Louis and Detroit, it seems likely that Berggren will arrive in time to face the Jets on Wednesday, making McGing's presence on the roster unnecessary. In his three outings with the Blues, the 27-year-old McGing generated one goal, one assist and four shots while averaging 10:52 of ice time.

Blues' Nick Bjugstad: Designated for injured reserve
Bjugstad (upper body) was shifted to injured reserve Tuesday, according to Matthew DeFranks of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Bjugstad's move to IR comes on the heels of the Blues claiming Jonatan Berggren off waivers Tuesday, as the team needed to free up a roster spot. Bjugstad has already missed three straight games, so he's eligible to return to the lineup at any time. The 33-year-old forward has garnered four goals, five points, 52 hits and a minus-4 rating over 25 games this year.

Blues' Jonatan Berggren: Claimed off waivers
Berggren was claimed off wavers by St. Louis from Detroit on Tuesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Berggren has registered two goals, six points, 20 shots on net and 10 hits through 15 appearances this season. The 25-year-old forward will be an option to make his St. Louis debut in Wednesday's matchup against Winnipeg.

Blues' Joel Hofer: Gives up four goals
Hofer stopped 21 of 25 shots in Monday's 5-2 loss to the Predators. The fifth goal was an empty-netter.
Hofer has appeared in each of the Blues' last four games, but the results haven't been very good, with only one win over that stretch (1-2-0), a 3.34 GAA and an .879 save percentage. Hofer hasn't shown enough to replace Jordan Binnington on a full-time basis. Both goaltenders have been struggling lately, so it's anyone's guess who'll get the nod when the Blues take on the Jets on Wednesday.

Blues' Dalibor Dvorsky: Scores twice Monday
Dvorsky scored two goals, including one on the power play, in Monday's 5-2 loss to the Predators.
Dvorsky delivered all the offense the Blues could muster in this game. However, it was the first time he's earned a point since Nov. 22, and the first time he's scored since Nov. 18. Despite this two-goal output, don't expect Dvorsky to become a valuable fantasy contributor for the Blues overnight. He doesn't produce enough from his bottom-six role in the lineup to warrant fantasy consideration in most formats.
