  • Packers' Josh Jacobs: Another limited session

Jacobs (knee/ankle) practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.

Jacobs has been playing through lingering knee and ankle injuries since Week 11 at the Giants, with his most recent outing this past Saturday in Chicago resulting in 14 touches for 48 yards from scrimmage on a 39 percent snap share. He also logged just two plays on offense after his lost fumble in the third quarter, which resulted in No. 2 RB Emanuel Wilson turning 14 carries into 82 yards on 46 percent of the snaps. Wilson would stand to benefit again Saturday against the Ravens if Jacobs is inhibited or even sidelined for that contest.

  • Packers' Josh Jacobs: Set for limited practice

Head coach Matt LaFleur said that Jacobs (knee/ankle) will be a limited participant in Tuesday's practice, Weston Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports.

Jacobs played through his nagging knee and ankle injuries in this past Saturday's loss to the Bears, but the Packers ended up managing his playing time more carefully than usual. Though he still earned 14 touches and accounted for 48 yards, Emanuel Wilson saw equal usage (14 carries for 82 yards) and out-snapped Jacobs 33-28. Jacobs will have his reps managed Wednesday, but the limited session marks a step forward from his practice participation last week. Jacobs may be ready to handle a heavier workload this Saturday versus the Ravens.

  • Packers' Josh Jacobs: Takes backseat to Wilson

Coach Matt LaFleur said Sunday that Jacobs' (knee/ankle) lack of usage after his fumble in the third quarter during Saturday's defeat at Chicago wasn't a punishment but instead mostly was due to how well No. 2 RB Emanuel Wilson was running, Zach Jacobson of 247Sports.com reports. Jacobs also didn't injure his knee further in the contest.

Jacobs logged only two offensive snaps after the aforementioned play, finishing with 14 touches for 48 yards from scrimmage. Meanwhile, Emanuel Wilson reeled off 82 yards on 14 carries. LaFleur's comments indicate Jacobs isn't any worse after the game than he was beforehand, but he also may be destined to show up on the Packers' Week 17 injury report, the first version of which will be posted Tuesday. In the end, the biggest question mark as the team prepares for next Saturday's contest against the Ravens is who will be under center, as No. 1 QB Jordan Love is in the concussion protocol, and Malik Willis is dealing with a right shoulder injury following Saturday's outing.

  • Packers' Josh Jacobs: Quiet night in OT loss

Jacobs (knee/ankle) rushed 12 times for 36 yards and brought in both targets for 12 yards in the Packers' 22-16 overtime loss to the Bears on Saturday night. He also lost a fumble.

Jacobs was active after not practicing all week, but the star running back didn't seem to be at full strength against a beatable Bears run defense. Jacobs' backfield mate Emanuel Wilson outpaced him by two carries and 56 rushing yards, and the former also had a very costly fumble at the Bears' three-yard line just past the halfway point of the third quarter. Jacobs didn't log another touch the rest of the game, but if healthy, he'll remain the top back in next Saturday night's Week 17 home matchup against the Ravens.

  • Packers' Josh Jacobs: Suiting up Saturday

Jacobs (knee/ankle) is listed as active Saturday at Chicago, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports.

Jacobs didn't practice at all this week due to the knee injury that's been lingering since Week 11 and also an ankle issue, which combined to leave him questionable for Week 16 action. Following a report from Tom Pelissero of NFL Network that Jacobs was expected to suit up Saturday, the running back will be available to the Packers offense for a fourth straight game since suffering the initial health concern. In the first three, Jacobs handled more than a 50 percent snap share on each occasion and tallied 54 touches for 275 yards from scrimmage and three total TDs. Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks (chest) also are on hand for RB reps this weekend.

  • Packers' Josh Jacobs: Expected to play Saturday

Jacobs (knee/ankle) is expected to take the field against Chicago on Saturday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Jacobs didn't practice at all this week due to a pair of injuries and was considered a game-time decision for Saturday's matchup. It appears the veteran running back is going to give it a go in a contest that could go a long way toward determining the winner of the NFC North. It remains to be seen if Jacobs will be limited in any way, but if he does indeed play, he should lead Green Bay's backfield ahead of No. 2 RB Emanuel Wilson.

  • Packers' Josh Jacobs: Status in question for Week 16

Jacobs (knee/ankle) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game in Chicago, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports.

Jacobs didn't practice this week after aggravating the knee issue this past Sunday at Denver that's been bothering him since he suffered the initial injury in Week 11 at the Giants. He sat out Week 12 against the Vikings, but he's been able to log at least a 50 percent snap share the last three games en route to 54 touches for 275 yards from scrimmage and three total TDs during that span. Coach Matt LaFleur told Matt Schneidman of The Athletic on Thursday that the Packers will take the decision on Jacobs' status for Saturday up until game time, meaning his status will be confirmed, one way or another, about 90 minutes before an 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff. Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks (chest, questionable) are the RBs on hand in the event Jacobs is inhibited or sidelined this weekend.

  • Packers' Josh Jacobs: Not practicing, could play Saturday

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said that Jacobs (knee/ankle) won't participate in Thursday's practice, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.

Jacobs will finish out Week 16 prep without having taken any on-field reps, but LaFleur isn't closing the door on the running back being available for Saturday's game against the Bears. LaFleur noted that the Packers will take a decision on Jacobs' status all the way up until the team has to release its inactive list 90 minutes prior to Saturday's 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff, which suggests that the 27-year-old will likely be officially listed as questionable when Green Bay's final injury report of the week is posted later Thursday. Jacobs has been dealing with a recurrence of stiffness and swelling in his left knee along with an ankle injury following the team's Week 15 loss to Denver, but Ian Rapoport of NFL Network suggests that Jacobs is likely to play this weekend, despite his lack of practice time leading up the contest.

  • Packers' Josh Jacobs: Expected to play Saturday

Jacobs (knee/ankle) is expected to be available for Saturday's road matchup against the Bears, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Jacobs has stated that he expects to play Week 16, but he sat out Wednesday's practice and Tuesday's walkthrough session. The workhorse running back may need to upgrade to at least limited practice reps Thursday in order to gain clearance, however. He logged a DNP/DNP/LP practice slate Week 15 and was initially listed as questionable for Green Bay's loss to the Broncos, in which he rushed the ball 12 times for 73 yards and a touchdown and added two receptions on three targets for 19 yards and another score.

  • Packers' Josh Jacobs: Doesn't practice Wednesday

Jacobs (knee/ankle) didn't practice Wednesday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.

After sitting out Tuesday's walkthrough due to lingering knee and ankle injuries, Jacobs told Ryan Wood of USA Today that he intends to play Saturday at Chicago, adding, "For me, it's harder to watch games than it is to play hurt." Jacobs had a significant limp in the locker room Tuesday while also wearing a knee brace, but if he follows a similar practice regimen to last week, he'd log a limited practice Thursday before being listed as questionable for Week 16 action. With Chris Brooks (chest) limited this week, Emanuel Wilson is the only healthy RB on the Packers' active roster.
