Jets' John Metchie: Team-best 41 receiving yards
Metchie caught all three of his targets for 41 yards in Sunday's 42-10 loss to the Patriots.
Metchie led the Jets in receiving yards as Brady Cook threw for only 152 yards in another lopsided loss. Cook has just one touchdown pass in four games (three starts) as the team's starting quarterback, so expectations should remain tempered for Metchie and the rest of the Jets' passing game in Week 18 against the Bills.

Jets' John Metchie: One catch in Week 16
Metchie caught one of five targets for four yards in Sunday's 29-6 loss to the Saints.
Metchie's streak of consecutive games with at least four catches ended at four. It's tough to trust any member of the Jets' passing offense with undrafted rookie Brady Cook under center, but Metchie would gain a bit more appeal if Gang Green turns back to Tyrod Taylor or Justin Fields (knee) under center in Week 17 against the Patriots. Metchie caught a touchdown pass from Fields in Week 11 against the Patriots.

Metchie caught four of five targets for 25 yards and rushed once for four yards in Sunday's 48-20 loss to the Jaguars.
Metchie has caught at least four passes in each of the past four games. He has carved out a steady role since coming over from Philadelphia via trade, but Metchie's ceiling remains capped by the Jets' inefficient quarterback play heading into a Week 16 trip to New Orleans.

Metchie caught four of eight targets for 34 yards in Sunday's 34-10 loss to the Dolphins.
Metchie tied for the team lead in targets with Mason Taylor while finishing second behind Taylor in both catches and receiving yards as the Jets struggled offensively while playing most of the game with third-string quarterback Brady Cook after Tyrod Taylor suffered an early groin injury. Metchie has made at least four catches in each of his last three games, establishing himself as a reliable option in an undermanned Jets passing game that has been playing without Garrett Wilson (knee), who is eligible to return from injured reserve in Week 15 against the Jaguars.

Metchie's brief touchdown streak was halted at two games, but he set a new season high in targets, topping his Week 12 total against the Ravens by one target. The trade acquisition from Philadelphia has been a key component in the Jets' new-look passing game in recent weeks, and Metchie should continue to play a significant role in Week 14 against the Dolphins.

Metchie caught six of seven targets for 65 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 23-10 loss to the Ravens.
Metchie scored a 13-yard touchdown in the second quarter, giving him touchdown receptions in consecutive games after he played only eight snaps in his Week 10 Jets debut. Jets' John Metchie: First TD as member of Jets
Metchie brought in all three targets for 45 yards and a touchdown in the Jets' 27-14 loss to the Patriots on Thursday night.
Metchie led the Jets in receiving yards and also recorded his first touchdown as a member of the team, logging a 22-yard scoring grab late in the third quarter on a play where he got wide open down the left side of the field. His yardage total was his highest since a Christmas Day loss to the Ravens last season while still with the Texans, and the fourth-year pro could have an expanded role down the stretch due to Garrett Wilson's current IR stint due to a knee injury.

Metchie caught his only target for three yards and rushed once for minus-7 yards in Sunday's 27-20 win over the Browns.
Metchie tied for the team lead in receptions in his Jets debut as Justin Fields completed only six passes, while Garrett Wilson (knee) exited early. Jets' John Metchie: Traded to Jets
New York agreed to terms Wednesday on a trade with the Eagles, sending Michael Carter and a 2027 seventh-round pick in exchange for Metchie and a 2027 sixth-round pick, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Metchie handled a depth role for Philadelphia across seven regular-season appearances to open the 2025 campaign, in which span he secured all four of his targets for 18 yards. The 2022 second-round pick, who began his NFL career with Houston, will now get a chance to compete for a depth role in a Jets wide receiver corps that desperately needs additional playmakers behind No. 1 option Garrett Wilson (knee). Tyler Johnson, Allen Lazard, Isaiah Williams and Arian Smith represent Metchie's top competition with his new team.

Metchie hasn't played more than seven offensive snaps in any game this season, but that number dropped all the way to zero for the first time in Week 7. While he was not listed on the Eagles' injury report, he spent the whole game on the sidelines, failing to see any usage even on special teams.
