Dix drew the start and made an impact as both a perimeter shooter and facilitator, finishing second on the Thunder in assists while committing just one turnover. The rookie received an extended opportunity with Oklahoma City relying heavily on its younger players, though his playing time figures to be considerably more limited once the regular season begins.

Thunder's Josh Dix: Starting Monday
Dix is in the starting lineup for Monday's preseason game against Atlanta, Justin Martinez of The Oklahoman reports.
Dix will make his first start of the preseason with several Oklahoma City regulars inactive. Through two preseason games as a reserve, the undrafted rookie is averaging 7.0 points, 1.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 22.0 minutes per contest.

Dix finished with 11 points (4-7 FG, 3-5 3Pt), two rebounds and two assists in 30 minutes during Tuesday's 116-110 preseason loss to the Pelicans.
Dix logged the second-most minutes among Oklahoma City's reserves and provided efficient perimeter shooting. The rookie guard faces significant competition for regular-season minutes on a deep Thunder roster but should continue receiving opportunities throughout the preseason.

Thunder's Josh Dix: Scores 16 points in SL loss
Dix tallied 16 points (6-10 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 0-1 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one block in 24 minutes during Tuesday's 103-69 Salt Lake City Summer League loss to the Jazz.
Dix delivered an efficient performance and tied for the game high in points. The 22-year-old wing also matched the game-high mark in triples made. He signed a two-way deal with the Thunder in late June and figures to see most of his playing time with their G League affiliate, the Oklahoma City Blue, in the 2026-27 campaign.

Thunder's Josh Dix: Agrees to two-way deal with Thunder
Dix agreed to a two-way contract with the Thunder on Thursday, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.
Dix began his college career at Iowa before spending his final collegiate season at Creighton, where he averaged 13.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.3 blocks and 0.9 steals across 32.9 minutes in 34 regular-season appearances. Although he shot a career-low 33.8 percent from deep in 2025-26, he is still considered an efficient shooter.
