Avery (undisclosed) was waived with an injury settlement by the Bears on Friday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Avery went unclaimed after being waived with an undisclosed injury by the Chicago on Sunday. While the nature of his injury is still unclear, the undrafted rookie out of Louisville will now be free to sign elsewhere ahead of the 2022 regular season.

Bears' C. J. Avery: Reverts to injured reserve
Avery (undisclosed) reverted to the Bears' injured reserve Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Avery went unclaimed on waivers after being waived with an injury designation Sunday, so he'll remain in the organization. It's not yet clear wheat injury he's dealing with, but he'll be forced to miss the 2022 season unless he reaches an injury settlement with the Bears.
