Bard (hip) cleared waivers and was outrighted off the Angels' 40-man roster Friday, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.
Bard missed the entirety of the season while recovering from hip surgery. He can't be on the 60-day injured list over the offseason, as he'd been all regular season, and the Angels elected not to carry him on their 40-man roster. It's unsurprising to see him pass through waivers unclaimed, as he's a 30-year-old with a 5.05 ERA in 66 career major-league innings.
