Marlowe exercised an opt-out clause in his minor-league contract with the Athletics and became free agent Thursday, Ari Alexander of 7 News Boston reports.
Marlowe inked a minor-league pact with the Athletics in January and has slashed .317/.394/.521 with seven homers, 50 RBI, 67 runs scored, 24 stolen bases and a 39:72 BB:K across 361 plate appearances while playing his home games in hitter-friendly Las Vegas. The 29-year-old hasn't played in a big-league game since the 2024 season with the Mariners.
