The Mets designated Teheran for assignment on Tuesday.
The veteran right-hander started Monday against Atlanta, but he won't stick around with the Mets after giving up four runs on six hits over 2.2 innings. Teheran can reject an outright assignment to Triple-A Syracuse and become a free agent, though it's unclear if he plans to do so.
