  • Tommy White 1B | ATH

Athletics' Tommy White: Not yet ready to start

White (back) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners.

White hasn't played since the Athletics' 8-5 loss to the Rangers on Tuesday, when he exited in the second inning due to lower-back tightness. The Athletics' resistance to move White to the injured list suggests that he's still being viewed as day-to-day, though it's unclear if he's realistic candidate to make a pinch-hitting appearance Sunday. White's ongoing absence will continue to open up extra playing time for Alika Williams, who will stick in the starting nine for a sixth straight contest.

  • Orioles' Blaze Alexander: Settling into regular role

Alexander will start at second base and bat leadoff in Sunday's game against the Red Sox, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Since being reinstated from the injured list Aug. 28, Alexander has now picked up eight starts in 11 games while occupying four different positions during that span. Alexander is hitting .300 since his activation, but all nine of his hits have been singles, and he's provided few counting statistics (three runs, one RBI and one stolen base).

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Resting up for series finale

Ramirez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Ramirez appears to be receiving a planned day off after he had started the previous 12 games, including both ends of a doubleheader Friday. Angel Genao will check in at third base in place of Ramirez, who has gone 3-for-23 with one run and no RBI through the first six games of September.

  • Josh Jung 3B | TEX

Rangers' Josh Jung: Keeps making progress

Jung (calf) ran the bases Saturday, Shawn McFarland of the Dallas Morning News reports.

This was another step in the right direction for Jung, who had previously run in straight or curved lines but never on the basepaths. If he responds well Sunday, the next steps are a live batting practice session and then a rehab assignment.

  • Zack Gelof 3B | ATH

Athletics' Zack Gelof: Logs steal in Saturday's win

Gelof went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and two runs scored in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Mariners.

Gelof has hit safely in five straight games to start September. He had homered in his three previous contests, but he wasn't able to extend his power streak in this game. Gelof continues to enjoy a strong bounce-back year, batting .260 with a .799 OPS, 17 home runs, 12 steals, 42 RBI, 63 runs scored, 14 doubles and two triples over 92 contests.

  • Max Muncy 3B | ATH

Athletics' Max Muncy: Homers again in win

Muncy went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a second RBI and two total runs scored in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Mariners.

Muncy has homered in consecutive contests, going 5-for-8 with three RBI in that span. The third baseman has been in the lineup for five of the last six games, splitting time between the hot corner and designated hitter. On the year, Muncy is batting .229 with a .695 OPS, nine homers, 29 RBI, 31 runs scored, nine doubles, two triples and three stolen bases over 74 games. He's finishing the year strong and should get ample opportunities to contribute down the stretch.

  • Rays' Junior Caminero: Smashes 38th homer

Caminero went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Saturday's 6-3 extra-inning win over the Rangers.

Caminero now has three multi-hit games already in the month of September. After benefitting from hitter-friendly George M. Steinbrenner Field for home games in 2025, the All-Star third baseman has shown no ill effects from Tampa Bay moving back to pitcher-friendly Tropicana Field in 2026. He's slashing a robust .281/.365/.532 with 38 homers, 91 RBI and 87 runs scored across 620 plate appearances.

  • Kazuma Okamoto 3B | TOR

Blue Jays' Kazuma Okamoto: Collects four hits in victory

Okamoto went 4-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI in Saturday's 4-3 win over Kansas City.

Okamoto broke a 2-2 tie in the third inning with a run-scoring double. After the Royals tied things up in the fourth, Okamoto again unknotted the score in the seventh frame with a single that plated what turned out to be the winning run. The rookie third baseman finished with the first four-hit effort of his MLB career while logging multiple knocks for the first time since Aug. 20. Okamoto is at a .233/.305/.445 slash line with 28 home runs, 23 doubles, 81 RBI, 73 runs and one stolen base through 137 games on the season.

  • Caleb Durbin 3B | BOS

Red Sox's Caleb Durbin: Taking a seat Saturday

Durbin is not in the Red Sox's starting lineup against the Orioles on Saturday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Durbin will have a rare day off while Nick Sogard starts at the hot corner and Isiah Kiner-Falefa fills in at second base. Durbin has had his ups and downs at the plate this season and has gone 2-for-22 with one steal and a 3:7 BB:K over his last seven outings.

  • Nick Loftin 3B | KC

    Royals' Nick Loftin: Idle Saturday

Loftin is not in the Royals' starting lineup against the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Loftin will take a seat after going 0-for-4 with a strikeout in Friday's 9-2 loss to Toronto. With Loftin opening Saturday's game on the bench, Josh Rojas will draw the start at the hot corner and bat eighth.
