  • Jose Siri LF | LAA

Angels' Jose Siri: Nabbing fifth straight start

Siri will start in center field and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Athletics.

Siri will occupy center field for the fifth game in a row and looks set to handle an everyday role following Mike Trout's (hamstring) recent move to the injured list. Since receiving a call-up from Triple-A Salt Lake on May 16, Siri is slashing .283/.343/.533 with four home runs, 16 RBI and 14 runs in 29 games.

  • Wilyer Abreu RF | BOS

Red Sox's Wilyer Abreu: Not in Sunday's lineup

Abreu is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

It's just the second day off of the season for Abreu, who started the past 56 games in right field. The 26-year-old has a .242/.279/.452 slash line with four doubles, three homers and 12 RBI through 16 contests in June. Nate Eaton is picking up a start in right field Sunday for Boston.

  • David Fry LF | CLE

Guardians' David Fry: On bench for third straight game

Fry is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros.

Fry had drawn four consecutive starts from Saturday through Thursday, but he's been on the bench for all three games of the Guardians' weekend series in Houston. Each of those absences have come against right-handed pitchers, so Fry appears as though he'll remain in a short-side platoon role even while Jose Ramirez (hand), Angel Martinez (foot) and Chase DeLauter (ribs) are on the IL.

  • Rays' Victor Mesa: Idle against lefty

Mesa is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.

The left-handed hitter will hit the bench for the second time in the series, as the Nationals send southpaw Andrew Alvarez to the hill Sunday. Mesa could struggle to find consistent playing time versus righties as well, after the Rays brought Jonny DeLuca back from the injured list Friday. Despite logging just nine of his 55 plate appearances against same-handed pitching since his May 24 call-up from Triple-A Durham, Mesa is slashing a meager .174/.296/.304 with two home runs, sevens runs and five RBI.

  • Rays' Cedric Mullins: Exiting lineup vs. southpaw

Mullins is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.

The left-handed-hitting Mullins will take a seat for the series finale while the Nationals send southpaw Andrew Alvarez to the bump. Jonny DeLuca will replace Mullins in center field and will bat second.

  • Jake Meyers CF | HOU

Astros' Jake Meyers: Not in Sunday's lineup

Meyers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Meyers started the previous three games but will take a seat Sunday after going 1-for-19 with a walk, a double, an RBI, a run and four strikeouts during that span. Joey Loperfido is manning center field while Yordan Alvarez handles left in the series finale versus Cleveland.

  • Matt Vierling CF | DET

Tigers' Matt Vierling: Taking seat Sunday

Vierling is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.

Vierling had covered center field in each of the last three games, but he'll give way to James Outman in the series finale. Though Vierling will likely be prioritized in the lineup ahead of Outman against left-handed pitching, manager A.J. Hinch could lean on the hotter bat among the two players when the Tigers face righties. Since the start of June, Vierling has produced a lowly .143/.162/.314 slash line.

  • Jarred Kelenic LF | TEX

Rangers' Jarred Kelenic: Makes first start for Texas

Kelenic started in left field and went 1-for-3 with a run scored in Saturday's 6-4 extra-inning loss to San Diego.

Kelenic started his first game for the Rangers, who selected his contract from Triple-A Round Rock on Friday. With two everyday spots in the outfield locked down (Wyatt Langford and Brandon Nimmo), Kelenic joins a group that includes Alejandro Osuna and Cody Freeman vying for the at-bats that had previously belonged to Evan Carter (oblique). Kelenic, who signed with the organization earlier this month, slashed .340/.431/.620 with three home runs, 11 RBI, three steals and 12 runs over 59 plate appearances at Round Rock before getting back to the majors.

  • Kahlil Watson RF | CLE

Guardians' Kahlil Watson: Rough start to MLB career

Watson went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in Saturday's 8-1 win over Houston.

Watson started a third consecutive game in right field but has yet to reach base safely while striking out seven times in 10 plate appearances. Despite appearing to be overmatched in his first tour of MLB, the left-handed batter could continue to get regular work while the Guardians cope with a recent spate of injuries, including outfielders Chase DeLauter (ribs) and Angel Martinez (foot).

  • James Outman CF | DET

Tigers' James Outman: Tallies two hits, stolen base

Outman went 2-for-2 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 4-1 win over the White Sox.

He came on as a defensive replacement after Jahmai Jones pinch hit for Kerry Carpenter in the fourth inning. Outman recorded his first multi-hit effort since joining the Tigers about 10 days ago as well as his first stolen base. The 29-year-old is seeing some run for the team, though he hasn't established a regular starting role and is still mostly off the fantasy radar due to his .173/.244/.293 slash line this season.
