  • Zach McKinstry RF | DET

Tigers' Zach McKinstry: Taking seat Saturday

McKinstry isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the White Sox.

McKinstry will take a day to reset after going 0-for-16 across his last six games. His absence will allow Ben Malgeri to start in right field, batting seventh.

  • Tristan Peters CF | CHW

White Sox's Tristan Peters: Sitting Saturday

Peters (shoulder/rib) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Tigers.

Peters made an early exit from Friday's contest after injuring his left shoulder/rib by crashing into the wall, and he'll now take Saturday off to recover. Brenton Doyle will take over in center field and bat ninth.

  • Riley Greene LF | DET

Tigers' Riley Greene: Pops 21st home run Friday

Greene went 1-for-4 with a walk and a two-run home run in Friday's 11-8 win over the White Sox.

Greene extended his hitting streak to eight games with his 21st home run of the season. He's gone deep twice during the hitting streak while also delivering 10 RBI and a 1.095 OPS. Detroit has a slim chance of making the playoffs with a big surge during the last week of the regular season, and it appears that Greene is going to do his part to help carry the offensive load.

  • Walker Jenkins CF | MIN

Twins' Walker Jenkins: Homers in back-to-back games

Jenkins went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 3-0 win over the Angels.

Jenkins continued his strong series in Anaheim, taking Grayson Rodriguez deep in the seventh inning to extend Minnesota's lead to 3-0. The rookie has homered in consecutive games and is 6-for-8 with two long balls, three RBI and three runs scored over the first two contests of the series. Friday marked Jenkins' second consecutive three-hit performance, and the homer was his third through his first 53 big-league at-bats.

  • Lazaro Montes RF | SEA

Mariners' Lazaro Montes: Hits clutch homer in win

Montez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 5-4 win over the Rockies.

Montez launched what proved to be a 426-foot game-winning homer in the top of the ninth inning. The 21-year-old has struck out in 15 of his 35 major-league plate appearances, but he's still hitting .250 with four homers and 10 RBI so far in his short stint with the Mariners.

  • Wyatt Langford LF | TEX

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Perfect at plate in win

Langford went 2-for-2 with three walks, one RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in Friday's 7-1 win over the Blue Jays.

Langford was patient at the plate, scoring after drawing a walk and stealing second in the second inning before driving in a run on a bases-loaded walk in the sixth. It was a needed performance for the 24-year-old, who entered the game hitting just .153 over 15 September contests. On the year, he's slashing .242/.336/.435 with 17 homers, 41 RBI, 62 runs scored and 14 stolen bases across 438 plate appearances.

  • Tristan Peters CF | CHW

White Sox's Tristan Peters: Dealing with bruised shoulder

Peters was diagnosed with a left shoulder/rib contusion following his exit from Friday's game against Detroit.

Peters was pulled from the game in the fifth inning after crashing into the outfield wall, and although he initially appeared at risk of having suffered a head injury, most of the damage was instead done to his upper torso. The White Sox are considering him day-to-day for now, and Brenton Doyle would be the favorite to start in center field if Peters is unable to play Saturday.

  • Roman Anthony LF | BOS

Red Sox's Roman Anthony: Drives in three runs vs. Tampa Bay

Anthony went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a two-run single during the Red Sox's 4-2 win over the Rays on Friday.

Anthony was responsible for all but one of the Red Sox's runs in Friday's win, with the 22-year-old slugger getting Boston on the board with a solo homer off Ian Seymour in the first inning. It was the first time this season that Anthony recorded three RBI in a game. He has a .709 OPS with two steals, five home runs and 14 RBI across 215 plate appearances this season.

  • Tristan Peters CF | CHW

White Sox's Tristan Peters: Exits with injury

Peters was removed from Friday's game against the Tigers with an apparent head injury, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Peters was taken out of the game immediately after crashing into the wall while chasing down a flyball in the fifth inning. The White Sox will presumably evaluate him for a concussion, and an update on his health should come in the near future.

  • Kyren Paris LF | LAA

Angels' Kyren Paris: Placed on injured list

The Angels placed Paris on the 10-day injured list Friday with a fractured right index finger, retroactive to Tuesday

Paris said Friday that he injured himself while fielding grounders before Thursday's game, per Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register. The 24-year-old is expected to need 3-to-4 weeks to recover, which rules him out for the rest of the season but leaves him plenty of time to be ready for 2027. Bryce Teodosio was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake to replenish the Halos' bench depth.
