Joshua Baez LF | STL
Cardinals' Joshua Baez: Absent from St. Louis lineup
Baez is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Giants.
Baez has been getting extra days off lately, as this is the third time he's been absent from the lineup over the Cardinals' last seven contests. It's possible the club wants to ensure he retains rookie eligibility in 2027, and in order to do that, Baez must remain under 130 at-bats (he's currently at 96). Bryan Torres will play left field for St. Louis on Tuesday.

Jose Fermin LF | STL
Cardinals' Jose Fermin: Back in action Tuesday
Fermin (undisclosed) will start at third base and bat ninth in Tuesday's contest versus the Giants.
Fermin was scratched from Sunday's lineup against the White Sox with an undisclosed injury, and he did not see any action during Monday's series opener versus the Giants. However, the 27-year-old feels well enough to give it a go Tuesday as the Cardinals look to take the series.

Blake Dunn CF | CIN
Reds' Blake Dunn: Needs another elbow surgery
Dunn will have ulnar nerve transposition surgery on his right elbow Wednesday, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports.
Dunn was already out for the season following internal brace surgery in August, and he's now set to undergo an additional operation on his elbow. The first surgery left Dunn a question mark for Opening Day next year, and it's possible Wednesday's procedure lengthens his timeline.

Teoscar Hernandez LF | LAD
Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Posts well-rounded line Monday
Hernandez went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, an additional run, a walk and a stolen base against the Reds in a 4-1 victory Monday.
Hernandez gave Dodgers starter Tarik Skubal all the breathing room he needed with a two-run blast in the fourth inning to make the score 3-0. The veteran outfielder has had a great September so far, slashing .405/.500/.667 with two long balls, six runs, 14 RBI and three thefts through 12 contests. That's pushed Hernandez's OPS up to .757, which is on pace for his second-highest regular-season mark over the past four years.

Kyle Tucker RF | LAD
Dodgers' Kyle Tucker: Continues late-season surge
Tucker went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, an additional run, a stolen base and two walks Monday in a 4-1 win against Cincinnati.
Tucker plated the first run of the game with a solo blast to right field in the second inning. The long ball was his third over his past five games, a span in which the veteran outfielder is batting .389 (7-for-18) with seven RBI, seven runs, one stolen base and a 3:3 BB:K. It's almost certainly too late for Tucker to entirely rescue what has been a rough first season in Los Angeles, as his .702 OPS is far below his .841 mark last year and over 100 points less than his previous career-low mark over a full season. Still, fantasy managers who are still alive in head-to-head playoffs with Tucker on their roster are at least reaping some benefits at the most important time of the year.
