  • Zac Veen LF | COL

Rockies' Zac Veen: Snaps hitless streak

Veen went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored Friday against Atlanta.

Veen hit well immediately after being recalled in mid-August, but he entered Friday's game having gone hitless across his last six games and 10 at-bats while striking out seven times in that span. Veen snapped out of that slump with a pair of singles in the loss. He has started nine of 10 games against right-handed pitching since being promoted.

  • TJ Friedl CF | CIN

Reds' TJ Friedl: Goes deep in win

Friedl entered Friday's game as a defensive replacement and homered in his lone plate appearance in a 10-8 win over the Cubs.

Friedl belted a solo homer in the top of the ninth inning, which gave Cincinnati breathing room after Chicago drew within a run with a four-run eighth. It was the the fourth homer of the season and first since July 2 for Friedl, who cleared outright waivers earlier this week.

  • Jung Hoo Lee RF | SF

Giants' Jung Hoo Lee: Bags steal in loss

Lee went 1-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and two runs scored in Friday's 10-6 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Lee dealt with an elbow injury earlier in the week, which cost him two games. The outfielder played the full contest in right field Friday and appears to be good to go to reclaim his starting role. He's batting .289 with a .750 OPS, nine home runs, 11 steals, 47 RBI, 61 runs scored, 27 doubles and four triples across 123 contests this season.

  • Corbin Carroll RF | ARI

Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Smacks 19th homer

Carroll went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and a third RBI in Friday's 10-6 win over the Giants.

Carroll homered as part of a third-inning rally for the Diamondbacks, and he plated another run on a sacrifice fly in the sixth. He's been good for most of the month but had gone 0-for-7 over his previous two games. The star outfielder is batting .248 with an .830 OPS, 19 homers, 61 RBI, 82 runs scored, 28 doubles, 16 triples and 20 stolen bases across 132 contests this season.

  • Edmundo Sosa LF | PHI

Phillies' Edmundo Sosa: Comes up clutch off bench

Sosa went 1-for-1 with a grand slam in Friday's 5-3 win over the Angels.

Sosa was brought in to pinch hit for Brandon Marsh in the ninth inning and delivered a game-changing blast. While Sosa's playing time remains sparse, he has gone 11-for-27 (.407) over his last 10 games, dating back to July 29. The utility man is batting .235 with a .663 OPS, six homers, 39 RBI, 24 runs scored, eight doubles, two triples and three stolen bases across 212 plate appearances this year.

  • Padres' Jackson Merrill: Goes deep in loss

Merrill went 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk, two RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 9-4 loss to the Rays.

Merrill was a bright spot in an otherwise forgettable effort by the Padres, launching a 425-foot blast in the sixth inning. The 23-year-old has now homered three times in his past six games, and he's gone deep seven times with 21 RBI in 25 August contests. On the season, he's slashing .241/.293/.424 with 22 home runs, 69 RBI, 70 runs scored and 24 steals across 553 plate appearances.

  • Braves' Michael Harris: Collects three RBI in Friday's win

Harris went 2-for-3 with a double, a homer, three RBI and two runs scored during Friday's 6-4 win over Colorado.

Harris contributed to Atlanta's three-run second inning with an RBI double before extending his team's lead to 6-3 with a two-run homer in the fifth. It was Harris' fourth multi-hit game in his last 10 outings, during which he has gone 14-for-38 (.368) with two steals, two home runs, six doubles, seven RBI and five runs scored.

  • Braves' Ronald Acuna: Crosses home three times Friday

Acuna went 3-for-3 with a walk, a double and three runs scored during Atlanta's 6-4 win over the Rockies on Friday.

Acuna entered Friday's game having gone 5-for-41 (.122) across his 10 prior games. He ended up setting a season high Friday with three hits, and it was the fourth time this year that he reached base safety four times. Acuna is currently sitting at a career low in batting average (.235) and has a .748 OPS in 361 plate appearances, but perhaps Friday's performance is a sign the veteran outfielder will find another gear for the stretch run.

  • Diamondbacks' Ryan Waldschmidt: Sitting down Friday

Waldschmidt isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Giants.

Waldschmidt will take a day to regroup after going just 1-for-10 over his last five games. Jordan Lawlar will start in center field and bat ninth while Waldschmidt sits.

  • Max Kepler LF | ARI

    Diamondbacks' Max Kepler: Resting Friday

Kepler isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against San Francisco.

Kepler will move to the bench Friday after going just 7-for-42 (.167) at the plate through his first 13 games in August. Lars Nootbaar will start in left field as a result, moving Gabriel Moreno to the DH spot and allowing James McCann to start at catcher.
