  • Cubs' Pete Crow-Armstrong: Provides offense in key win

Crow-Armstrong went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Brewers.

Crow-Armstrong went deep against Milwaukee starter Logan Henderson with a runner on in the third inning, and it was all the offense the Cubs would need to secure a series split with their division rivals. The young outfielder came into the night with just a .322 OPS against the Brewers this year with no home runs, but he's been dynamite overall. Crow-Armstrong is now one long ball shy of his first career 40-homer campaign, and he's tacked on 32 stolen bases as well to put a 40-40 season well within reach.

  • Brennen Davis CF | SEA

Mariners' Brennen Davis: Placed on MLB 60-day IL

The Mariners recalled Davis (hamstring) from Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday and placed him on the 60-day injured list.

Davis hasn't played in a game at Tacoma since late May while recovering from a strained left hamstring. His move to the 60-day IL won't affect his return timeline, but it will free up a roster spot for Stuart Fairchild, who was selected to the active roster in a corresponding move. It's unknown how far away Davis is from returning.

  • Victor Robles RF | SEA

Mariners' Victor Robles: Away from team

The Mariners placed Robles on the family medical emergency list Thursday.

Robles will miss most, if not all, of the Mariners' four-game series against the A's while he tends to more important matters. Stuart Fairchild will come up from Triple-A Tacoma to fill the void in Seattle's outfield corps.

  • Mariners' Stuart Fairchild: Contract selected

The Mariners selected Fairchild's contract from Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday.

Fairchild will return to the big leagues to replenish the Mariners' outfield depth as Victor Robles moves to the family medical emergency list. Fairchild has logged just three hits in 19 at-bats in the majors this season and isn't likely to make much of an impact with Seattle. Brennen Davis (hamstring) was placed on the 60-day IL to open up a 40-man roster spot.

  • Denzel Clarke CF | ATH

Athletics' Denzel Clarke: Riding pine Thursday

Clarke isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mariners.

Clarke will get a day off after going 1-for-6 with a walk and a run scored in his first two games back from the injured list. Zack Gelof, Henry Bolte and Lawrence Butler will start across the outfield for the A's while Clarke is on the bench.

  • Rays' Victor Mesa: Sitting Thursday

Mesa is not in the lineup Thursday against the Rangers.

Mesa has gone 3-for-8 across the two games he's played in since returning from a strained left hamstring Tuesday. He'll receive some rest Thursday while Jonny DeLuca gets the start in right field and bats fifth.

  • Owen Caissie RF | MIA

Marlins' Owen Caissie: Sitting down Thursday

Caissie isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Royals.

Caissie has posted just a .492 OPS in 62 plate appearances since returning from the injured list at the start of August, and he'll now move to the bench for the fourth time in five days. Heriberto Hernandez, Jakob Marsee and Griffin Conine will form Miami's outfield trio while Caissie sits.

  • Sal Frelick RF | MIL

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Not starting versus righty

Frelick is not in the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Cubs.

It's the third straight day Frelick has been out of the lineup, but this is the first of those that comes when the opposition is starting a righty. The Brewers will go with Jake Bauers in right field and Andrew Vaughn at first base in the series finale.

  • Red Sox's Ceddanne Rafaela: Remaining out Thursday

Rafaela (quad) isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Orioles, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

Rafaela was pulled from Wednesday's game in the seventh inning due to quad tightness, and he'll need at least a day to recover before making his return to the starting nine. His absence will allow Eli White to start in center field and bat eighth Thursday.

  • Brewers' Jackson Chourio: Keeps rolling in four-hit game

Chourio went 4-for-6 with a solo home run, a double and an additional run scored in Wednesday's win over the Cubs.

Chourio stayed hot Wednesday, pushing his hitting streak up to seven games. The star outfielder has a pair of four-hit efforts over that stretch and has gone yard four times since the streak began. He's hitting .287 with 21 homers, 58 RBI, 15 stolen bases and 74 runs scored over 476 plate appearances.
