  • Heliot Ramos RF | NYY

Yankees' Heliot Ramos: Goes deep Sunday

Ramos went 2-for-2 with a three-run homer and a pair of walks in Sunday's 16-1 win over the Red Sox.

Getting the start in right field against the left-handed Ranger Suarez, Ramos extended New York's lead to 5-0 in the fifth inning with a three-run, 416-foot blast, his 10th homer this season and first with the Yankees. Ramos had been struggling mightily in New York prior to Sunday, going just 7-for-59 (.119) with a .461 OPS in his first 20 games following a trade from San Francisco. Ramos figures to remain in the short side of a right-field platoon with Spencer Jones until Aaron Judge (ribs) is able to return.

  • Roman Anthony LF | BOS

Red Sox's Roman Anthony: Two hits in return

Anthony went 2-for-4 with a double in Sunday's 16-1 loss to the Yankees.

While there wasn't much to be excited about for Boston on Sunday, Anthony's return to the lineup, following a nearly four-month stint on the IL, was certainly a bright spot. Anthony, who led off for the Red Sox, is expected to serve as their primary DH down the stretch. He's slashing .239/.358/.336 with one homer, 12 runs scored, five RBI and two steals across 134 plate appearances this year.

  • Brandon Marsh LF | PHI

Phillies' Brandon Marsh: Exiting starting nine Sunday

Marsh is out of the lineup for Sunday's game with the Angels.

With the Angels sending left-hander Yusei Kikuchi to the mound, Marsh will take a seat. Bryan De La Cruz will man left field and bat sixth for the Phillies.

  • Phillies' Justin Crawford: Out versus lefty

Crawford is absent from the lineup for Philadelphia's game with the Angels on Sunday.

With southpaw Yusei Kikuchi toeing the slab for the Angels, Crawford will ride the pine as the Phillies go for a sweep Sunday. Derek Hill will take over in center field and bat ninth.

  • Byron Buxton CF | MIN

Twins' Byron Buxton: Moves to injured list

The Twins placed Buxton on the 10-day injured list Sunday due to a right hip impingement.

The veteran outfielder has dealt with the hip impingement for much of the season and will return to the IL on Sunday after sitting out four straight games. It was previously reported that Buxton could require offseason surgery to address the injury, so it's possible he will be shut down for the season if he doesn't show enough improvement soon. Top prospect Walker Jenkins should continue to operate as Minnesota's primary center fielder.

  • Luis Rengifo LF | SD

Padres' Luis Rengifo: Lands on IL

San Diego placed Rengifo on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a right knee sprain.

Rengifo was removed early from Saturday's game against the Rays after spraining his right knee in the seventh inning. The injury will require the 29-year-old to miss a minimum of 10 days. Since joining the Padres in late June, Rengifo has slashed .291/.375/.409 over 145 plate appearances with four homers, three steals, 17 RBI and 19 runs. Samad Taylor (oblique) was activated from the IL to replace Rengifo on the active roster.

  • Grant McCray RF | SF

Giants' Grant McCray: Scores in win

McCray went 1-for-4 with a run scored in a 7-2 win over Arizona in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader.

McCray didn't play in the matinee but hit a leadoff single in the fifth inning of the nightcap before coming around to score, giving the Giants a 2-1 lead. The 25-year-old outfielder has recorded a hit in three of his last four games, batting .214 with a triple and a double in 15 plate appearances during that span. Overall, he's slashing .118/.237/.235 with eight runs scored, four stolen bases, two RBI and a home run across 62 plate appearances this season.

  • Samad Taylor LF | SD

Padres' Samad Taylor: Back from IL

The Padres activated Taylor (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Sunday.

Taylor will make his first appearance in the majors since going down with a right oblique strain July 8. In 102 major-league plate appearances this year, the 27-year-old is batting .330/.410/.398 with one homer, 11 RBI and six stolen bases. San Diego transferred Luis Rengifo (knee) to the injured list, making room for Taylor on the active roster.

  • Twins' Gabriel Gonzalez: Promoted to Minnesota

The Twins recalled Gonzalez from Triple-A St. Paul on Sunday.

Gonzalez will get his second stint with the big-league club in 2026 after appearing in one game against Boston in late May. With St. Paul, the 22-year-old has a slash line of .254/.318/.423 with 15 homers and 51 RBI over 444 plate appearances this season. The Twins sent Byron Buxton (hip) to the injured list in a corresponding move.

  • Braves' Mike Yastrzemski: Not starting Sunday

Yastrzemski is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

The veteran outfielder started the previous 13 games against right-handed pitching but will hit the bench Sunday against Colorado righty Mason Adams. Yastrzemski has slumped hard since Aug. 14, as he's batting .156 (5-for-32) with no extra-base hits and 10 strikeouts.
