Julian Aguiar RP | CHC
Cubs' Julian Aguiar: Claimed by Cubs
The Cubs claimed Aguiar off waivers from the Reds on Saturday, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.
Aguiar was pushed off the Reds' 40-man roster after giving up two earned runs in three innings with Cincinnati and posting a 6.27 ERA at Triple-A, but he'll reclaim a roster spot upon joining his new organization. The 25-year-old won't be eligible to pitch for Chicago in the postseason, but he could be recalled to help preserve the team's bullpen during the final weekend of the regular season.

Brent Suter RP | ATL
Braves' Brent Suter: Drawing start in bullpen game
Suter is slated to start Saturday's game against the Marlins in what's expected to be a bullpen day, Chad Bishop of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Suter hasn't recorded more than 11 outs in any of his prior 53 appearances on the campaign, so despite drawing the start Saturday, he's unlikely to pitch deep enough into the contest to qualify for a win. Atlanta hasn't designated a bulk reliever to pitch behind Suter, but Elieser Hernandez hasn't been used since being called up from Triple-A Gwinnett on Thursday and could be called upon to cover multiple innings out of the bullpen.

Justin Hagenman RP | NYM
Mets' Justin Hagenman: Works in bulk relief
Hagenman struck out two and allowed one run on five hits and one walk over four innings of relief in Saturday's 7-6 loss to the Nationals.
Called up from Triple-A Syracuse prior to Friday's contest, Hagenman was put to work right away out of the bullpen. The Mets had Jefry Yan cover the first 1.2 innings to open the contest, then two other relievers were called upon to record four outs before Hagenman entered the game in the bottom of the fourth. The right-hander pitched effectively during his time on the mound, but since he entered the contest with a three-run deficit that proved insurmountable for the Mets, he wasn't able to scoop up a win. Given that he tossed 70 pitches Friday, Hagenman is unlikely to be available for the final two games of the season.

Seth Lonsway RP | SF
Giants' Seth Lonsway: Joins big-league bullpen
The Giants recalled Lonsway from Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday.
Lonsway gave up three runs (two earned) over two innings during his MLB debut Aug. 29, but he'll get another opportunity to pitch for the big club as the team beefs up its bullpen depth down the stretch. Yunior Marte was optioned to Sacramento in a corresponding move.

Spencer Miles RP | TOR
Blue Jays' Spencer Miles: Stellar showing in latest short start
Miles struck out four and allowed two hits and no walks over three scoreless frames in a start during last Sunday's 7-2 win over the Rangers.
Drawing his eighth start of the season, Miles was sharp but was limited to 46 pitches since he's been mostly used in a relief role since the All-Star break. The Blue Jays haven't used Miles since last weekend, but he could be a candidate to pitch multiple innings in bulk relief in one of the team's final two games of the season against the Reds. The Blue Jays have named Trey Yesavage and Max Scherzer as their starters for Saturday and Sunday, respectively, and both are likely to be operating with limited workloads.

Robby Ahlstrom RP | TEX
Rangers' Robby Ahlstrom: Up from Triple-A
The Rangers recalled Ahlstrom from Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday.
The 27-year-old will provide the Rangers with another fresh bullpen arm to work with, replacing Gavin Collyer. Ahlstrom has recorded a 6.08 ERA and 1.43 WHIP over 37 innings with the Rangers this year and will likely be limited to middle-relief duty.

Sam Hentges RP | SF
Giants' Sam Hentges: Logs scoreless inning Friday
Hentges threw a scoreless inning while striking out one in Friday's 2-0 loss to the Dodgers.
Hentges recorded his third straight scoreless outing while throwing eight of his 11 pitches for strikes. The 30-year-old southpaw has been productive of late, turning in a 1.69 ERA and 6:2 K:BB in 5.1 innings over his last six appearances. On the campaign, he owns a 3.28 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 39:25 K:BB in 35.2 innings across 44 outings.

Jeff Hoffman RP | MIN
Twins' Jeff Hoffman: Placed on injured list
The Twins placed Hoffman on the 15-day injured list Saturday with right forearm inflammation, Aaron Gleeman of AaronGleeman.com reports.
Hoffman's forearm injury will cause his season to end a few days early, and he'll finish the year with a 3.55 ERA and 1.32 WHIP over 66 innings between Toronto and Minnesota. He also recorded six saves and a career-high 22 holds. His roster spot will be given to Kaelen Culpepper (hamstring), who was reinstated from the 10-day IL in a corresponding move.

Wilber Dotel RP | PIT
Pirates' Wilber Dotel: Relegated to Triple-A
The Pirates optioned Dotel to Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday, Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
After giving up two runs (one earned) in three innings Friday, Dotel will be cast out of the Pirates' bullpen in favor of a fresh arm in the form of Hunter Barco. Dotel will finish the MLB season with a 4.46 ERA and 1.37 WHIP alongside a 41:16 K:BB over 42.1 innings.
