Willy Adames SS | SF
Giants' Willy Adames: Ramping up baseball activities
Adames (elbow) intends to take batting practice and participate in fielding work Monday, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
The Giants have been eliminated from postseason contention, but it doesn't appear as though Adames, who was placed on the 10-day injured list Aug. 24 due to a left elbow sprain, has been shut down for the season just yet. Following Monday's matchup, San Francisco will have five games remaining, so it's possible the star shortstop will return before the end of the campaign in an effort to end the year on a high note. However, it's not clear if the club would be willing to activate Adames with nothing left to play for.

Cooper Pratt SS | MIL
Brewers' Cooper Pratt: Picks up pair of steals
Pratt went 2-for-3 with a walk, two RBI and two stolen bases in Sunday's 3-0 win over the Orioles.
Pratt has gone 11-for-27 (.407) over his last eight games, adding four steals in that stretch. The shortstop is up to 17 thefts on 20 attempts this year as he provides good speed from the lower third of the order. He's batting .282 with a .721 OPS, three home runs, 33 RBI, 33 runs scored, six doubles and two triples through 69 contests.
-
Xander Bogaerts SS | SD
Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Records steal in win
Bogaerts went 1-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and two runs scored in Sunday's 7-3 win over the Marlins.
Bogaerts is batting .317 (19-for-60) over 17 contests in September, adding six extra-base hits and four steals. The shortstop has a career-high 22 steals on 23 attempts this season, as speed has been a larger part of his game during his four years with the Padres. Things haven't gone as well for the rest of his offensive profile, as he's batting .229 with a .667 OPS, 12 home runs, 56 RBI, 65 runs scored, 18 doubles and a triple over 148 games this season.

Dansby Swanson SS | CHC
Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Receiving Sunday off
Swanson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.
The veteran shortstop started the first two games of the series after being reinstated from the injured list Friday, so this is likely just a rest day for him after he went 3-for-7 with a solo homer in those contests. Nico Hoerner is taking Swanson's place at shortstop, which opens up the keystone for Pedro Ramirez.

Otto Lopez SS | MIA
Marlins' Otto Lopez: Stays hot in extra-inning loss
Lopez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run, two walks and a stolen base in Saturday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Padres.
Lopez has gone 19-for-50 (.380) over his last 13 contests, hitting safely in 11 of them. This was his first homer since Aug. 30 versus the Nationals. The infielder is batting .307 with a .794 OPS, 11 homers, 71 RBI, 91 runs scored, 32 stolen bases, 32 doubles and nine triples over 151 contests.

Dansby Swanson SS | CHC
Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Goes deep in second game back
Swanson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Reds.
Playing in his second game back since returning from the injured list, Swanson popped his 19th home run of the season in the ninth inning. The shortstop missed about a month with an oblique strain, though he still has time to record his second straight 20-homer campaign and fifth of his MLB career. While the Cubs figure to ease Swanson back into action to a degree, he should still play frequently during the last week of the regular season with the team fighting for a playoff spot.

Mookie Betts SS | LAD
Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Perfect at plate Saturday
Betts went 4-for-4 with three doubles, a walk, two RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 10-4 win over the Giants.
Betts continues to swing a hot bat with three straight multi-hit efforts. He's batting .397 (25-for-63) with six home runs and seven doubles over 16 contests in September. The surge has him up to a .261 average and .785 OPS through 116 contests this season, and he's added 22 homers, 23 doubles, 67 RBI, 68 runs scored and two stolen bases.
-
Trea Turner SS | PHI
Phillies' Trea Turner: On base four times in Saturday's loss
Turner went 2-for-3 with two walks, a run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 10-3 loss to the Mets.
The star shortstop was busy on the basepaths Saturday but is struggling to build any momentum ahead of the playoffs. Turner has collected multiple hits in four of his last 11 games, but over that stretch he's batting just .256 (11-for-43) with two homers, three steals, five RBI and eight runs. Turner needs one more homer to record the fourth 20-20 campaign of his career.

Xander Bogaerts SS | SD
Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Getting break Saturday
Bogaerts isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Miami.
Bogaerts has slashed .316/.409/.474 across 66 plate appearances while starting every game since the beginning of September, but the Padres will get him some rest Saturday. Jake Cronenworth will shift to shortstop as a result, putting Fernando Tatis at second base and allowing Samad Taylor to make a start in the outfield.
