  • MacKenzie Gore SP | TEX

Rangers' MacKenzie Gore: Early hook in finale

Gore did not factor into the decision in Sunday's 6-4 loss to the Twins, allowing one run on one hit and one walk over 2.1 innings. He did not record a strikeout.

Gore started a major-league-leading 34th game but did not last long, throwing 15 of 25 pitches for strikes and departing with one out in the third inning. It's unclear if the southpaw was injured Sunday, but he'll finish the campaign having completed five frames in only five of his final seven outings. He'll conclude his first season in Texas with a 4.58 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 174:71 K:BB across a career-high 173 innings.

  • Jo Adell RF | CLE

Guardians' Jo Adell: Clubs homer Sunday

Adell went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Royals.

Adell went just 23-for-95 (.242) over 25 games in September, adding three homers and 11 RBI. The outfielder batted .240 with a .699 OPS this season. He produced 23 homers, 94 RBI, 70 runs scored, 26 doubles, one triple and five stolen bases over a career-high 159 contests between the Guardians and the Angels. While his overall profile was mostly steady compared to his career year in 2025, he regressed in the power department.

  • Guardians' Daniel Schneemann: Homer, steal in loss

Schneemann went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a stolen base in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Royals.

Schneemann saw a bench role after returning to the majors at the start of September. He went 3-for-10 over eight games this month. On the year, he hit just .210 with a .608 OPS, seven homers, 30 RBI, 30 runs scored, 11 doubles and seven steals over 286 plate appearances. Schneemann is not a lock to be on the postseason roster, and even if he makes it, he'll likely serve as a utility option off the bench.

  • Parker Messick SP | CLE

Guardians' Parker Messick: Goes three innings

Messick allowed a run on six hits and a walk while striking out two over three innings in a no-decision versus the Royals on Sunday.

Messick's start was a shorter one, as expected, since the Guardians had nothing to play for in the regular-season finale. This outing will function to keep him on a normal schedule heading into the playoffs, where he's expected to get a start in the ALDS. Messick allowed no more than three runs in any of his last 15 starts of the season, providing excellent consistency. He ends the regular season with a 12-9 record, 2.56 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 193:49 K:BB over 186.1 innings through 32 starts.

  • Royals' Vinnie Pasquantino: Smacks two homers in win

Pasquantino went 2-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Guardians.

Pasquantino twice gave the Royals a lead, going deep in the fifth and eighth innings. While injuries and lackluster performances defined parts of the season for Pasquantino, he finished strong with eight homers over 23 games in September. The first baseman hit .249 with a .761 OPS, 17 homers, 63 RBI, 54 runs scored, 20 doubles, two triples and five stolen bases over 114 contests in 2026.

  • Jonny DeLuca RF | TB

Rays' Jonny DeLuca: Homers twice in defeat

DeLuca went 2-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs in Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Phillies.

DeLuca got the Rays on the board in the fifth inning with his solo shot off Zack Wheeler before adding a second homer in the seventh off Alex McFarlane. It's the first career multi-homer game for DeLuca, who totaled 11 long balls this year. The outfielder finished the regular season strong, going 9-for-23 (.391) over his last six games. Overall, DeLuca slashed .266/.300/.429 with 50 RBI, 44 runs scored and 17 stolen bases across 370 regular-season plate appearances.

  • Lucas Erceg RP | KC

Royals' Lucas Erceg: Picks up 13th save

Erceg allowed a hit and struck out one over a scoreless inning to earn the save in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Guardians.

Erceg closed out the season with five scoreless innings, earning a save and a hold over five appearances in that span. He had spent a month in Triple-A after giving up 14 runs (11 earned) over 10.2 innings in July and August. Erceg finishes the campaign with a 5.59 ERA, 1.80 WHIP and 34:32 K:BB across 48.1 innings in the majors. He added 13 saves, five holds and six blown saves.

  • Royals' Daniel Lynch: Decent work in no-decision

Lynch allowed two runs on seven hits and struck out two without walking a batter over 5.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Guardians on Sunday.

Lynch made his last 10 appearances of the season as a starter, but he had some struggles. He allowed nine home runs over 40 innings in those games while posting a 6.53 ERA in a starting role. Overall, he finished the campaign at a 6-6 record, 4.08 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 56:26 K:BB through 86 innings over 56 appearances. Lynch's success out of the bullpen compared to his poor showings as a starter could make it tough for him to stick in the rotation in future seasons.

  • Rays' Nick Martinez: Early exit in finale

Martinez (15-6) took the loss Sunday against the Phillies, allowing four runs on seven hits and a walk across 2.2 innings. He struck out one.

Martinez gave up a run in the first inning on a Bryson Stott two-out double before the Phillies put up a three spot in the second. The right-hander would ultimately depart in the third, after throwing 50 pitches. Coming into Sunday, Martinez had held opponents to three runs or fewer in each of his previous six outings, posting a 2.52 ERA across 35.2 innings in that span. Martinez will finish the regular season with a 3.10 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 109 strikeouts across 31 starts (180 innings).

  • Carlos Rodon SP | NYY

Yankees' Carlos Rodon: Bullpen role for playoffs

Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters Sunday that he expects to have Rodon pitch out of the bullpen for the American League Wild Card series against the Red Sox, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports.

The Yankees already announced their rotation for the Wild Card series, with Cam Schlittler taking the mound for Game 1 on Tuesday, followed by Max Fried and Gerrit Cole. Rodon will thus be deployed out of the bullpen, though he could return if the Yankees make a deep run in the postseason. He posted a 7-3 record across 16 starts this season with a 2.67 ERA and 1.06 WHIP across 84.1 innings.
