Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY
Yankees' Ryan McMahon: Exiting starting nine
McMahon is absent from the lineup Wednesday in Game 3 of the ALDS against the Rays.
The Yankees typically like to have McMahon's glove at third base when groundball pitcher Max Fried is on the mound, but they're desperate for offense so McMahon will take a seat. It will be Jose Caballero manning the hot corner for the Bronx Bombers.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. 2B | NYY
Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: Absent from Game 3 lineup
Chisholm is not in the lineup Wednesday for ALDS Game 3 against the Rays.
Chisholm made one of the Yankees' four errors in their Game 2 loss, and he's hitless so far in the series. As a result, the lefty-swinging Chisholm will sit out versus righty Nick Martinez, who has fairly neutral splits. Anthony Volpe is covering second base in Game 3 as the Yankees try to stave off elimination.

Ronald Acuna Jr. RF | ATL
Braves' Ronald Acuna: Back in right field after clean MRI
Acuna underwent an MRI on his right knee after Tuesday's NLDS Game 3 loss to the Dodgers, which came back negative, Jesus Cano of The Athletic reports.
Acuna experienced lingering soreness in the knee after tweaking it on a stolen base in Sunday's Game 2 win for Atlanta. He was deployed at designated hitter in Game 3, but Acuna is back in right field for Game 4 after imaging returned clean. Drake Baldwin will slot in at DH on Wednesday, while Sean Murphy will do the catching.

Ha-seong Kim SS | ATL
Braves' Ha-Seong Kim: Taking seat for Game 4
Kim is not in the lineup Wednesday for Game 4 of the NLDS versus the Dodgers.
Kim started at shortstop in Games 1 and 3, but he will depart the lineup in Game 4 for the second time in the series. The 30-year-old infielder is 0-for-5 with a 2:3 BB:K so far this postseason, and he made an error in Atlanta's Game 3 loss. Mauricio Dubon will occupy shortstop as Atlanta tries to even the series.

Tommy Edman 2B | LAD
Dodgers' Tommy Edman: Sitting out again for Game 4
Edman is not in the lineup Wednesday for Game 4 of the NLDS versus Atlanta.
After starting the first two games of the series, Edman has now been on the bench in consecutive contests. He's hitless so far this postseason and hit just .203/.288/.335 in his final 50 regular-season contests. Enrique Hernandez will grab a start at second base while Edman rests.

Robert Gasser SP | MIL
Brewers' Robert Gasser: Nets Game 4 start
Gasser will start for the Brewers on Wednesday in Game 4 of the NLDS against the Padres, Sophia Minnaert of Brewers.tv reports.
Gasser hasn't pitched in a game in nearly two weeks, but he was terrific down the stretch of the regular season for Milwaukee, posting a 1.67 ERA and 31:12 K:BB over 32.1 innings covering his final six appearances. The left-hander is stretched out to handle a normal starter's workload, but it wouldn't be a surprise if the Brewers' bullpen is heavily involved in the gameplan for Game 4.

Andrew Benintendi DH | CHW
White Sox's Andrew Benintendi: Exiting starting lineup
Benintendi is absent from the lineup Wednesday for Game 3 of the ALDS against the Guardians.
The Guardians are starting a right-handed opener in Daniel Espino, but with either lefties Foster Griffin or Joey Cantillo likely to pitch in bulk relief, the lefty-swinging Benintendi will begin the contest on the bench. Benintendi is 1-for-5 with one RBI and a 2:3 BB:K so far during the postseason. Sam Antonacci is occupying the designated hitter spot, and Randal Grichuk will play left field as the White Sox try to close out the Guardians.

Miguel Rojas 2B | LAD
Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: Believes he'll be available
Rojas (back) said after Tuesday's NLDS Game 3 win in Atlanta that he isn't concerned about his availability moving forward, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Rojas was lifted from Tuesday's contest in the eighth inning due to tightness in his left lower back/hip area. It's unlikely the right-handed-hitting Rojas would start versus Atlanta's Game 4 starter, righty Tyler Mahle, even if he were 100 percent, but it sounds like he expects to be available off the bench. Rojas is 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored in the first three games of the series.

Jason Schiavone C | HOU
Astros' Jason Schiavone: Could debut early next season
The Astros anticipate that Schiavone could be ready for his major-league debut early on in the 2027 season, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
Schiavone had a breakout 2026 campaign, slashing .252/.391/.531 with 32 home runs and 32 stolen bases across three levels to become the first minor-league catcher in 45 years to complete a 30-30 season. The 23-year-old does have swing-and-miss concerns, having struck out at a 32 percent clip in 2026, but he has an interesting skill set for fantasy if he can make enough contact. Schiavone will likely open the 2027 season back at Triple-A Sugar Land, where he played his final nine games this season.

Riley O'Brien RP | STL
Cardinals' Riley O'Brien: Aims to add muscle over offseason
O'Brien said recently that he wants to put on "as much muscle as I can" this offseason in order to help his body absorb the toll of the 2027 season, Daniel Guerrero of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
O'Brien finished tied for the National League lead with 38 saves this season, but he faded after the All-Star break, posting a 5.11 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 25:16 K:BB over 24.2 innings while blowing four of 18 save chances. The 31-year-old also saw his velocity dip in the second half, as he averaged 97 mph with his four-seamer after averaging 98.2 mph with the pitch in the first half. As things stand right now, O'Brien is the clear favorite to open next season as the Cardinals' closer again.
