Per Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy, Jennings is expected to join the Hornets after he was waived by the Knicks on Monday, Jake Chapman of Pistons.com reports.

The report comes from a rather odd source in Van Gundy -- Jennings' former coach in Detroit -- who told reporters that he spoke to Jennings' agent Monday morning, and the agent informed him of his client's decision to join the Hornets. Jennings has endured an up-and-down season with the Knicks, appearing in 58 games, including 11 starts, and averaging 8.6 points, 4.9 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game. The 27-year-old is shooting just 38.0 percent from the field, while knocking down 34.0 percent of his three-point attempts. Despite the inefficient shooting numbers, Jennings would still be a valuable addition for the slumping Hornets, who will likely be without Ramon Sessions (knee) for a few more weeks.
