Simmons' (back) agent, Rich Paul, told Brian Windhorst of ESPN on Tuesday that his client is considered "week-to-week" and isn't considered to be close to making his Nets debut. "I don't even know if he's going to be back in March," Windhorst said during his TV appearance on ESPN's "SportsNation."

Shams Charania of The Athletic broke the news last week that Simmons has been experiencing back soreness during his reconditioning process, which has delayed Brooklyn's timeline for getting him back up to game speed. However, Nets head coach Steve Nash was adamant that the back issues wouldn't be "a long-term thing," even though Simmons isn't practicing in any capacity for at least this week. Regardless, fantasy managers should remain skeptical moving forward, as it appears that the most optimistic scenario is Simmons returning shortly before the postseason.
