Gasol said Tuesday that he's "feeling good" about the rehab process for his surgically repaired left foot and indicated that he'll likely make a decision on whether to continue his playing career in September or October, Tales Azzoni of the Associated Press reports.

Gasol hasn't played in a competitive NBA game since March 2019, when he was a member of the Bucks. He signed with Portland last summer but never appeared for the club before being released in November after he was a slow to bounce back from the foot procedure he required last May. The 39-year-old center seems to have turned a corner over the past few months, though he noted that he has yet to resume running or jumping. If his foot cooperates well once he's cleared for full on-court activities, Gasol said he'll attempt to play one final season in the NBA or in his native Spain. With the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo having been postponed until 2021, Gasol is hopeful to get through the 2020-21 season healthy enough to give himself "a chance" at representing his home country one last time on the international stage.
