Schroder was traded to the Rockets on Thursday, along with Bruno Fernando and Enes Freedom, in exchange for Daniel Theis, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Leading up to the deadline, the Celtics made it clear that Schroder was very much available, and they were ultimately able to settle on a deal that brings Theis back to Boston. On the surface, adding Schroder doesn't make a ton of sense for the rebuilding Rockets, so it remains to be seen just how much of a role he'll hold alongside Jalen Green and Kevin Porter Jr. Over his final nine games in a Celtics uniform, Schroder averaged just 18.3 minutes, which he translated to 7.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists. As an expiring contract, Schroder could be a buyout candidate.
