  • Drew Timme PF | PHO

    Drew Timme: Claimed by Suns

The Suns claimed Timme off waivers Monday, per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.com.

After being let go by Minnesota on Saturday, Timme wasn't allowed to go through waivers unclaimed without Phoenix snatching him up. With Mark Williams (shoulder) likely out through the All-Star break, Timme helps reinforce Phoenix's depth at center.

  • Dom Barlow PF | PHI

76ers' Dominick Barlow: Out at least two weeks

Barlow will miss at least the next two weeks of action due to a lumbar spine bone stress response, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.

The back issue cost Barlow the entire preseason, and now he'll begin the regular season on the sidelines. The earliest we could see Barlow back on the court would be Nov. 2, but it wouldn't be shocking to see his absence extend beyond this loose, two-week window.

  • Brandon Miller SG | CHA

Hornets' Brandon Miller: Inks extension with Hornets

Miller agreed to a five-year, $209 million rookie-scale contract extension with Charlotte on Monday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.

The Hornets have already elected to exercise a $15.1 million team option for the 2026-27 season, but this deal will keep Miller in Charlotte for years to come. The 23-year-old has averaged 20-plus points in each of his last two seasons and will serve in a key scoring role heading into the upcoming campaign.

  • Micah Peavy SF | MEM

    Micah Peavy: Jettisoned by Grizzlies

Memphis waived Peavy (ankle) on Monday, per Shams Charania of ESPN.

An ankle injury cost Peavy the end of the preseason, which might have played a part in him winding up on the chopping block for the Grizzlies. The 2025 second-rounder is now looking to find a home elsewhere as frontcourt depth.

  • Kevin Porter PG | MIL

Kevin Porter: Let go by Milwaukee

Porter was waived by the Bucks on Monday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.

Porter will need to search for an opportunity elsewhere after failing to secure a place on the regular-season roster. He averaged 17.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 2.2 steals in 38 regular-season appearances a year ago with Milwaukee.

  • Walter Clayton: Waived by Memphis

Memphis waived Clayton on Monday, per Shams Charania of ESPN.

The Grizzlies were unable to find a trade suitor for Clayton's services prior to Monday's roster deadline. The Florida product was a first-round pick last year and may not pass through waivers unclaimed.

  • Dalton Knecht SF | LAL

Lakers' Dalton Knecht: Parts ways with Lakers

The Lakers waived Knecht on Monday, per Shams Charania of ESPN.

The writing appeared to be on the wall once head coach JJ Redick told reporters Monday that Knecht was excused from practice with an illness. A first-round pick just two years ago, Knecht shouldn't take long to catch on with another NBA club.

  • Rockets' Julian Phillips: Converted to two-way deal

The Rockets converted Phillips' deal to a two-way contract Monday, per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.com.

Phillips is set to begin the season with Houston after working with a training camp pact. Most of his playing time should come with the G League's Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

  • Dalton Knecht SF | LAL

Lakers' Dalton Knecht: Excused from practice

Knecht (illness) was excused from Monday's practice, per Jovan Buha of The Athletic.

Knecht is under the weather Monday. The 2024 first-rounder can be viewed as questionable for Wednesday's season opener against the Warriors, but he's not likely to be part of the rotation anyway.

  • Bronny James PG | LAL

    Lakers' Bronny James: Misses practice

James (illness) was excused from practice Monday, per Jovan Buha of The Athletic.

James is battling an illness. His status is now in limbo for Wednesday's season opener against the Warriors, but James isn't expected to be in the rotation in any case.
