Buccaneers' Kendell Beckwith: Productive showing in final preseason game

Beckwith notched five tackles (all solo), a sack and two quarterback hits overall in Thursday's 13-10 preseason loss to the Redskins.
The impressive rookie closed out the preseason with another strong showing, and remains very much in the mix for the starting strong-side linebacker job. Adarius Glanton appears to be his main competitor for the role, as Devante Bond, who was the starter heading into training camp, is still sidelined with a knee injury. Glanton was very impressive in his own right Thursday while leading the Bucs in tackles, but Beckwith's size and weight advantage -- as well as his sideline-to-sideline playmaking -- could coax head coach Dirk Koetter into taking a leap of faith by inserting him into the starting lineup from Day 1.
