Devin Street: Released by New England

Street was released Wednesday by the Patriots, Field Yates of ESPN.com reports.

Street was already facing an uphill battle to make the Patriots' roster due to crowding at receiver, and the team ultimately allowed to let the Pittsburgh product pursue an opportunity elsewhere after Andrew Hawkins was signed Wednesday. Street has appeared in 36 NFL games throughout his three-year career, so he shouldn't have to wait too long to get a look from another team.
