One of my favorite things to do when I update Dynasty rankings is run a set of polls to see just how far my perception is from that of Twitter. For the latest edition, you can click here and scroll through the results.

There are many benefits to this exercise, but often what I like to do is put something out there that I'm not even sure I've sold myself on, just to see how the community feels about it. Strong backlash can be the best remedy for a wild hair. This week's wild hair was putting Cooper Kupp a full tier (almost two) ahead of Michael Thomas. 

Kupp and Thomas are both 28 years old, and Thomas has shown much more PPR upside in his career. But Thomas was hurt last year, will likely miss the first month of 2021 (at least) and doesn't seem particularly happy in New Orleans. Did I mention Thomas just lost his Hall of Fame quarterback while Kupp upgraded from Jared Goff to Matthew Stafford?

Still, Thomas has been four Fantasy points per game better than Kupp the past three seasons. Seemingly, that made no difference to voters. In fact, through the first 600 votes, 72% of voters desired Kupp over Thomas. In a later poll, Thomas only received 39% of the first 300 votes against Robert Woods, Tyler Boyd, and Julio Jones. And in terms of rookie draft pick capital, a plurality said they would not give up a first-round rookie pick for Thomas. 

Now, I wouldn't put too much into these results in terms of determining the possibility Thomas returns to form. But this does tell you what the general perception is. And what it tells me is that now is not the time to sell low on Thomas. it also told me, I'm not too low on Thomas in Tier 6.
