Raiders' Marcus Mariota: Designated to return

Mariota (pectoral) participated in practice Wednesday, indicating the Raiders have designated him to return from IR.

Mariota could be active for Sunday's game against the Bills and serve as Derek Carr's backup. Carr has been a solid QB thus far with 7.8 yards per attempt while completing 74 percent of passes, so Mariota likely won't see any playing time unless Carr suffers an injury.
