  • Justin Fields QB | NYJ

Jets' Justin Fields: Listed as Q, won't start regardless

Fields (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Saints.

Fields and Tyrod Taylor (groin/knee) are both listed as questionable. The healthier of the two is expected to work as the backup to Brady Cook on Sunday. That looks more likely to be Taylor at this point, as Fields described himself as week-to-week Friday, per Brian Costello of the New York Post.

  • Chiefs' Jake Briningstool: Won't return Sunday

Briningstool (hamstring) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Titans.

Despite practicing in full throughout the week, the Clemson product isn't ready for in-game action just yet. Briningstool has yet to make his NFL debut after catching 49 of 76 targets for 530 yards and seven touchdowns during his final collegiate season. His next opportunity to take the field will come in the Week 17 matchup against the Broncos, though he must still be activated to Kansas City's active roster in order to play.

  • Mason Taylor TE | NYJ

Jets' Mason Taylor: Missing second straight game

Taylor (neck) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Saints.

Taylor will miss a second consecutive game, and he hasn't practiced during his absence. Newly extended Jeremy Ruckert will top the Jets' tight end depth chart in Sunday's battle between cellar-dwellers. Taylor's next chance to play will be Week 17 against the Patriots.

  • Xavier Smith WR | LAR

Rams' Xavier Smith: Makes lengthy grab in loss

Smith secured both of his targets for 57 yards and returned one punt for 31 yards during Thursday's 38-37 overtime loss to the Seahawks.

On a third-and-9 play early in the third quarter, Smith was able to burn past Devon Witherspoon and snag a dart from Matthew Stafford for a 48-yard gain, leading to a Harrison Mevis field goal a few plays later. Smith has shown the ability to make explosive plays when called upon in recent weeks, including a 51-yard catch in Week 13 against Carolina. Fellow backups Jordan Whittington and Tutu Atwell combined for a single catch for 19 yards, while Konata Mumpfield earned a whopping eight targets, which he turned into three catches for 40 yards. If Davante Adams (knee/hamstring) isn't able to go for a Week 17 matchup in Atlanta on Monday, Dec. 29, Mumpfield and Smith seem like the primary candidates for a role increase behind Puka Nacua.

  • Chiefs' Derrick Nnadi: Out for Sunday

Nnadi (illness) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Titans.

The veteran defensive tackle from Florida State didn't practice Thursday or Friday due to an illness, so it's no surprise that he won't suit up for Sunday's contest. Nnadi is now in line to miss his first game of the season in Week 16, meaning Mike Pennel and Jerry Tillery will likely have have larger roles with the Chiefs' first-team defensive line.

  • Chiefs' Trent McDuffie: Out for Week 16

McDuffie (knee) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Titans.

McDuffie downgraded from a limited practice session Thursday to a DNP on Friday, suggesting his injury may have worsened throughout the week. Through 13 appearances this season, the Washington product has logged 63 total tackles, seven passes defensed, including one interception, and one forced fumble. Nohl Williams will likely have a larger role in Kansas City's secondary while McDuffie is sidelined Sunday.

  • Leo Chenal LB | KC

Chiefs' Leo Chenal: Won't play Sunday

Chenal (shoulder) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Titans.

Chenal didn't practice all week after likely sustaining a shoulder injury in the Week 15 loss to the Chargers, so it's no surprise he won't play Sunday. The 25-year-old has appeared in 14 games this season, recording 58 total tackles, including 2.0 sacks, and two passes defensed, with one interception. While he's sidelined in Week 16, Jack Cochrane could have an expanded role with the Chiefs' first-team defense.

  • Derick Hall LB | SEA

Seahawks' Derick Hall: Suspended for one game

Hall was given a one-game suspension by the NFL on Friday for an act of unnecessary roughness and unsportsmanlike conduct during Thursday's 38-37 overtime win over the Rams, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

The third-year pro from Auburn stepped on Kevin Dotson's leg in the first quarter of Thursday's contest, leading to his suspension. Hall has appeared in 13 games for the Seahawks this season, recording 29 total tackles, including 1.0 sacks, and two passes defensed. Uchenna Nwosu will likely serve as Seattle's top reserve outside linebacker while Hall is sidelined for the Week 17 matchup against the Panthers.

  • Jalen Nailor WR | MIN

Vikings' Jalen Nailor: Cleared for Sunday

Nailor (back) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Giants.

He figures to fill his usual role as the Vikings' No. 3 receiver, coming off a two-TD showing at Dallas in Week 16. Nailor returned to full practice participation Friday after limited sessions earlier in the week.

  • Alec Pierce WR | IND

Colts' Alec Pierce: Full participant Friday

Pierce (Achilles) was a full participant at Friday's practice.

Pierce was listed as limited Thursday, but his limitations appear to have been precautionary after he played every snap on offense in this past Sunday's loss to the Seahawks. Barring a setback, Pierce won't have an injury designation for Monday's game against the 49ers when the Colts release their injury report Saturday.
