Dostal will protect the home goal versus the Sharks in Thursday's preseason game.
Dostal will play the first half of the game before giving way to Calle Clang. This will be Dostal's first preseason start, and he's currently positioned to begin the year as the Ducks' No. 1 netminder. John Gibson (appendectomy) will be out early in October.
