MacEwen was placed on waivers Monday, per Chris Johnston of The Athletic.
If he clears, MacEwen is expected to head to AHL Belleville, so that the Senators can activate Anton Forsberg (groin) from long-term injured reserve. MacEwen has two goals, one assist and 46 PIM in 22 NHL outings this season.
