  • Lightning's Victor Hedman: Exits contest

Hedman (undisclosed) won't return to Tuesday's game versus the Canadiens.

This was Hedman's third game back from an undisclosed injury that landed him on injured reserve, but it's not clear if this issue is related. It could be, as Hedman hasn't quite looked like himself since his return. The 34-year-old defenseman's status should be updated prior to Thursday's game versus the Devils.

  • Sharks' Timothy Liljegren: Poised to play

Liljegren (lower body) is expected to play against the Flyers on Tuesday, per Max Miller of NHL.com.

Despite being considered a game-time decision, Liljegren won't miss any game action. He has compiled four assists, 17 shots on goal, 52 blocked shots and 21 hits across 24 appearances this season.

  • Jets' Elias Salomonsson: Sent to AHL

Salomonsson was loaned to AHL Manitoba on Tuesday.

Salomonsson hasn't earned a point in four NHL appearances this season while providing three shots on goal, five blocked shots and five hits. He has contributed six assists in 17 AHL outings during the 2025-26 campaign.

  • Owen Power D | BUF

Sabres' Owen Power: Ends slump with goal

Power scored a goal on two shots and went minus-2 in Monday's 7-4 loss to the Flames.

Power put an end to an 11-game point drought with his tally. The 23-year-old has maintained a hearty share of ice time, averaging 19:45 per game during his slump, and he logged 21:17 in Monday's contest. For the season, the blueliner is at just eight points with 40 shots on net, 22 blocked shots, 14 hits and a minus-8 rating over 28 appearances. Power has taken a step back this year, his fourth full NHL campaign.

  • Flames' Rasmus Andersson: Tallies on power play

Andersson scored a power-play goal on four shots, blocked three shots, added two PIM and went plus-2 in Monday's 7-4 win over the Sabres.

Andersson has three points over four outings in December while continuing to offer all-around upside. The 29-year-old blueliner is up to seven goals, 21 points (seven on the power play), 73 shots on net, 62 blocked shots, 36 PIM and a plus-3 rating through 31 appearances this year. His career high in goals is 11, set in 2022-23 and matched in 2024-25, but he could shatter that mark and challenge for his best point total (50 in 2021-22) if he keeps up his current pace.

  • Red Wings' Axel Sandin-Pellikka: Posts pair of helpers

Sandin-Pellikka registered two assists and went plus-3 in Monday's 4-0 win over the Canucks.

Sandin-Pellikka is heating up with four helpers over his last three games. The 20-year-old defenseman's ice time has dropped in that span, as he's topped 15 minutes just once over those contests after going 10 straight games with at least 16 minutes. Perhaps less is more for the rookie, at least for now, as the Red Wings can get higher quality out of him in less ice time. He's at 10 points, 31 shots on net, 31 blocked shots and a minus-14 rating over 30 appearances.

  • Stars' Thomas Harley: Good to go

Harley (lower body) will return to the lineup against the Jets on Tuesday, Ken Wiebe of The Winnipeg Free Press reports.

Following a 12-game absence, Harley should return to a top-four role and see time on the power play against Winnipeg. He has compiled one goal, nine assists, 21 shots on net, 43 blocked shots and nine hits through 18 appearances this season.

  • Sharks' Timothy Liljegren: Game-time call in Philadelphia

Liljegren (lower body) will be a game-time decision Tuesday against the Flyers, according to Max Miller of NHL.com.

Liljegren hasn't recorded a point across his last 11 appearances -- he has 24 blocked shots and a minus-8 rating during that cold stretch. If the right-shot blueliner is unable to suit up Tuesday, Shakir Mukhamadullin will replace him in the lineup.

  • Sharks' Vincent Desharnais: Out through Christmas

Desharnais (upper body) will be sidelined through the Christmas break, Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now reports Tuesday.

Desharnais is still considered week-to-week while on injured reserve, so it's possible he will be out even longer than the break. Considering the blueliner hasn't scored a goal since 2023-24 when he was with the Oilers, and has managed just two points this year, few fantasy managers figure to be impacted by his continued absence.

  • Penguins' Harrison Brunicke: Joining Team Canada

Brunicke will be loaned to Team Canada for the 2026 World Junior Championship, Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff reports.

Brunicke will take part in the World Juniors, which will likely keep him away from the Penguins through early January. The 19-year-old Brunicke hasn't played in an NHL game since Nov. 3 versus the Maple Leafs, though he did suit up in five minor-league games for AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton while on a conditioning assignment.
