Dennis Hildeby G | TOR
Maple Leafs' Dennis Hildeby: Tough luck loss to Sharks
Hildeby made 29 saves in a 3-2 overtime loss to San Jose on Thursday.
Hildeby made several great saves, including stoning Ty Dellandrea on a first period penalty shot to keep the game scoreless. And he did his best in the third when the Sharks outshot the Maple Leafs 11-5, but John Klingberg notched the tying goal at 18:35 with the extra attacker on the ice. Hildeby is 1-0-2 in three starts over the last six days, including one by shutout and with just four goals allowed in that span.

William Nylander RW | TOR
Maple Leafs' William Nylander: First points in five
Nylander had two assists Thursday in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Sharks.
He had been held without a point in each of his past four games. Overall, Nylander has 11 goals, 23 assists and 56 shots in 26 games thus far. It's nice to see Willie off the schneid.

Auston Matthews C | TOR
Maple Leafs' Auston Matthews: Pace finally quickening
Matthews scored a power-play goal in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Sharks.
Matthews made it 2-0 at 14:32 of the second period when he one-timed a cross-ice pass from William Nylander below the right circle. It ended a streak of 0-for-12 and 2-for-28 for the Maple Leafs with the man advantage. Matthews has a goal in each of his last two games and three in his last four (20 shots). He's been held off the scoresheet just once in his last seven games (four goals, three assists; 31 shots).

Jake Allen G | NJ
Devils' Jake Allen: Takes loss in relief
Allen made 23 saves in relief Thursday's 8-4 loss to Tampa Bay. He allowed five goals.
The Devils have been horrible lately, losing six of their past seven games and five consecutive at home. Allen is 1-5-0 in his last five starts. The win was by shutout, but three of those losses had at least five goals go past. You cannot have Allen or Jacob Markstrom in your net until they regain their bearings.

Morgan Barron C | WPG
Jets' Morgan Barron: Puts away goal in loss
Barron scored a goal on three shots, added two PIM and doled out three hits in Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Bruins.
Barron scored for the first time since Oct. 16 versus the Flyers. The fourth-liner has just two points over 12 outings since he returned from an undisclosed injury. Overall, he has eight points, 35 shots, 50 hits, 16 PIM and a plus-2 rating over 24 appearances. He's played well enough generally to stay in the lineup, but his usage doesn't make him a viable fantasy forward in most formats.

Alex Iafallo LW | WPG
Jets' Alex Iafallo: Lights lamp in loss
Iafallo scored a goal and added five hits in Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Bruins.
Iafallo has seen a slight upward trend in ice time amid the Jets' weeks-long struggles on offense. He was officially on the top line Thursday and logged 15:01 in this contest, netting his first goal in nearly a month at 13:37 of the first period. The 31-year-old winger is up to five goals, 10 points, 47 shots on net, 41 hits, 21 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating over 30 appearances. Iafallo is good for about 30 points over a full season, though he's a little behind that pace in 2025-26.

Jacob Markstrom G | NJ
Devils' Jacob Markstrom: Gets hook after three quick goals
Markstrom allowed three goals on seven shots Thursday against Tampa Bay before being replaced by Jake Allen before the mid-point of the first period. The Lightning won 8-4.
He was visibly frustrated after the game. "It is a step back," Markstrom said. "We've got to be honest with ourselves. ... Got to look yourself in the mirror and got to be better. What did I play? Five minutes today? That's not what I want to do." Markstrom is 1-3-0 with 16 goals allowed in his last five starts.

Gabriel Vilardi C | WPG
Jets' Gabriel Vilardi: Strikes on power play in loss
Vilardi scored a power-play goal and went minus-2 in Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Bruins.
Even with the usual top line broken up, Vilardi was still able to get on the scoresheet. He has three goals and three assists during a five-game point streak, and he's scored eight goals and dished five assists over his last 11 outings. The 26-year-old forward is up to 14 goals, 27 points (eight on the power play), 66 shots on net and a minus-1 rating through 30 appearances this season. Vilardi should be a steady scoring-only option even if the Jets' offense continues to struggle as a whole.

Eric Comrie G | WPG
Jets' Eric Comrie: Can't end skid Thursday
Comrie stopped 18 of 23 shots in Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Bruins. The sixth goal was an empty-netter.
The Bruins rattled off three goals in a span of 2:44 during the first period, and the Jets never really recovered from it. Comrie has lost three games in a row, and this was arguably one of his worst performances of the year. He's now at a 6-8-1 record with a 3.30 GAA and an .886 save percentage through 15 starts. With 11 starts over the last 12 games, including seven in a row, fatigue may be in play at this point. Domenic DiVincentiis is awaiting his NHL debut whenever the Jets want to give Comrie a rest, though neither goalie would be a particularly good fantasy play for Saturday's game versus the Capitals.

Paul Cotter C | NJ
Devils' Paul Cotter: Pounds out hits and adds offense
Cotter had a goal, an assist and six hits in an 8-4 loss to the Lightning on Thursday.
The goal came on a late third period power play to make the score 7-4. Cotter has a goal in each of his last two games (three points), but he has just seven nine points (four goals, five assists) in 31 games this season. Cotter's fantasy value is tied to his ability to bruise, and he has 85 hits so far. That's a 225-hit pace, and it would be his third consecutive season at that level.
