DeSmith stopped 22 of 25 shots in Friday's 8-3 win over the Ducks.

DeSmith picked up his third straight win, and he didn't have to work too hard for it. The Stars led 4-1 after one period and kept rolling in the second before easing up in the third. DeSmith is now 9-1-3 with a 2.20 GAA and a .920 save percentage over 13 appearances this season. He's been among the best backup netminders in the league this year, though his playing time has often been little more than once per week. Jake Oettinger is likely to get the nod Sunday at home versus the Maple Leafs.

Howard logged three assists in AHL Bakersfield's 5-4 overtime win over Coachella Valley on Friday.

Howard has a pair of three-point efforts over his last three games. He's settled into a decent groove for the Condors with 16 points through 13 appearances after losing his NHL roster spot back in November. The 21-year-old Howard should remain in contention for a call-up if he can keep putting up big numbers in the AHL.

But scored a power-play goal on two shots, added two PIM and logged two hits in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Devils.

But has now picked up three points, all on the power play, over his last four games. His tally Friday, at 9:35 of the first period, was his first NHL goal, but he's already looking like he'll have some staying power with the big club. But is up to 20 shots on net, seven hits, four PIM and a plus-1 rating over his first 10 appearances.

Vejmelka allowed two goals on 22 shots in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Devils.

Vejmelka's three-game winning streak came to an end, though this wasn't a bad performance for the 29-year-old netminder. He allowed goals to Connor Brown and Stefan Noesen (on the power play). Vejmelka is now 15-10-2 with a 2.69 GAA and an .895 save percentage through 28 outings overall. He continues to handle a starting role for the Mammoth, and he'll probably get the nod versus the reeling Jets on Sunday.

Hischier logged two assists, including one on the power play, and five shots on goal in Friday's 2-1 win over the Mammoth.

Hischier entered this contest on a five-game point drought before setting up tallies by Stefan Noesen and Connor Brown. The 26-year-old Hischier won't lose ice time even when his offense is cold, as his defensive play is too valuable to the Devils. The center is up to 28 points, 86 shots on net, 34 blocked shots, 27 hits, 14 PIM and a minus-1 rating over 35 contests.

Noesen scored a power-play goal on three shots and blocked two shots in Friday's 2-1 win over the Mammoth.

Noesen has earned three points and 11 shots on net over his last five contests. The Devils' numerous injuries have opened the door for the 32-year-old forward to see steady middle-six usage, and he's taking advantage of it. Noesen is still at a paltry three goals, six points, 40 shots, 29 hits, 29 PIM and a minus-8 rating through 29 appearances. His fantasy appeal is limited to deeper formats, though his drops in power-play production and physicality have likely kept him off the radar in most leagues.

Brown scored a goal and blocked two shots in Friday's 2-1 win over the Mammoth.

Brown scored for the third time in his last four games, tying this contest at 1-1 in the second period. The 31-year-old winger led all Devils with 22:16 of ice time, a season-high mark for him. Brown's trust with head coach Sheldon Keefe is on the rise, though the winger's offense will probably dip again eventually. He's at nine goals, 15 points, 38 shots on net, 22 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating over 28 appearances this season.

Markstrom stopped 32 of 33 shots in Friday's 2-1 win over the Mammoth.

Markstrom picked up just his second win in six outings this month with one of his best performances of the season. He's up to 9-7-1 with a 3.40 GAA and an .881 save percentage through 18 appearances. He's been largely outplayed by Jake Allen (2.49 GAA, .912 save percentage), but both goalies have 17 starts to their name so far. The Devils' next game is Sunday at home versus the Sabres.

Nyquist posted a power-play assist in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Avalanche.

Nyquist had gone 10 games without a point, and he was scratched for four contests in that span. The 36-year-old winger's declining offense has been a poor fit for the Jets this year, and he may not be out of the woods for scratches if he can't find more consistency. He's logged just seven helpers with 33 shots on net, 16 hits and a minus-1 rating over 25 outings.

Barron scored a shorthanded goal on two shots in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Avalanche.

Barron has three goals and an assist over his last five games. The Jets have given him a middle-six role lately since he's one of the few forwards on the roster making a positive impact. His fantasy usefulness remains limited since he doesn't have a power-play job. Barron is up to six goals (two shorthanded), 11 points, 43 shots on net, 60 hits, 18 blocked shots, 18 PIM and a plus-6 rating over 28 appearances this season.
